I'm agoraphobic, have been for many years.
recently though I have been trying to get out more (only small amounts of time) to places like the library, the shops, I even ate in KFC 1 evening but now with this whole lockdown/coronavirus I feel that actually, I have a reason to fear going out. and that reason is that I'm going to be infected or I'm going to run in to a bunch of people panicb uying or otherwise trying to get where they need to be, as quick as possible (in other terms I feel like this is pushing me back) any other agoraphobics on here who have thought about this?. crossed anyones mind? even after the pandemic it's still going to be pretty terrifying. |

We feel like we're in the same boat. We had a few places we were comfortable going and now those places are all closed so it's to PHP and home pretty much. We are still leaving, but it's getting more and more terrifying. Yesterday, we had a panic attack leaving the house and today we've been in a state of panic nearly all day. PHP is almost over for the day, we've taken a propranolol and a Seroquel and can't wait to just get home. Just want to climb into bed and hide from the world right about now.
In our city, drive thru's and such are still open. Can you go get food at one of those or just go to the pharmacy or grocery just to walk around to push yourself? That's kind of what we've been trying to do. Just finding places to go that aren't too bad or too hard that are still open. We totally understand though. By the end of this, we wouldn't be surprised if we aren't complete shut-ins. We've tried so hard to keep ourselves from getting there and letting the anxiety win completely. This situation isn't helping. __________________ Diagnoses: PTSD with Dissociative Symptoms, Borderline Personality Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain |

Yes understand and it’s tough enough to go out when a pandemic is not going on. Did go for a walk outside today and it was lightly raining and only saw two persons on the other side of the street. It helps to get out and exercise each day or almost every day. I haven’t been out in 6 days, well not into town, so wonder if I will see people wearing masks now. Tomorrow I’m going into town to do grocery pickup curb side. Dreading it as they be out of some items.
