One of my friends, dealing with COVID-19 fear. I want to tell you about an experience. A few days ago my friend watching tv and seeing the news. he is read about COVID-19 everywhere on social media, on discussion, tv, etc. one night he suddenly shouted that "I am an infected person, please go: he shouted on everyone". when her mother told me then I am not able to understand. what is going with him? then we consulted with a specialist
He said that he is in fear of COVID-19 and he had some mental health problems.
In present he is well n good. But he is continuous in touch with the consultant.

Hello sophiakaile: I see this is your first post here on PC. Welcome to Psych Central.

I think I can sympathize with what your friend is experiencing. (Probably a lot of us, here on PC as well as elsewhere, can. I was struggling with what I sometimes refer to as "generalized fear" (fear that is not directed at anything in particular) before Covid-19 came on the scene. But I have to say that, since Covid-19 showed up, my "fear-level" seems to be increasing. It's not even that I'm particularly afraid of the illness itself. It's just all of the over-the-top scary stuff you hear about in the news as well as on-line.

I'm glad your friend is doing well now & that he has this consultant he's in touch with. Here are links to 4 articles, from Psych Central's archives, that address the current Covid-19 situation & our emotional reactions to it:

5 Emotional Precautions to Take During the Coronavirus Pandemic

Pandemic Survival Guide For the Emotionally Neglected

Anxiety, Depression and COVID-19: Now's the Time to Feel Our Feelings — Here's 8 Ways How to

I hope you find PC to be of benefit.

I think that everyone is scared about the covid-19.

I have worked out in the public since this all started , my job is listed as essential , but the amount of people I have been exposed too has been small , , , now with everything opening up I am becoming more and more scared as I know there will be crowding and many more people in closer prox to each other than before . . . the control of mask usage and the cleaning will both go down as 6 pack joe goes back to work and fills the public areas . . .

just as a note I am 62 very over weight , have severe apaea , high blood pressure and wearing a mask ( which I do ) causes my heart to race and strain as I do my physical job . . . I am just waiting for either infection or a stroke . . . funny thing is 3 months ago I would have been ok with either , but the depression has lifted a little , , , so now fear . . .
