Is this what GAD is? My friend got mad at me today for asking why she was anxious. Apparently she is anxious a lot of the time for no identifiable reason(s). I tried to tell her that I get anxious about stuff I'm thinking about and she said "I'm not you!"! She got really mad. I have had panic attacks before that have lasted hours- thinking my kids were dead. But to just be anxious out of nowhere? Is this generalized anxiety disorder? She has no diagnosis and won't see a pdoc. I dunno what you do for anxiety besides DBT or benzos which nobody will prescribe anymore anyway. Can anybody explain this? Btw, I have bipolar disorder so I definitely get anxiety.

I have generalized anxiety disorder and often feel anxious for no reason I can identify. My episodes usually start at 4:00 or 5:00. My doc used to prescribe Clonazapam, but she recently stopped. I'm learning new ways to deal like meditation and progressive body relaxation.

Moose, i know we are not supposed to diagnose, but i think your friend has GBD, not GAD - Generalized Beeyotch Disorder! She could talk a little nicer to you.

Glad somebody else sees it. I try to stay on her good side but sometimes it can't be helped. I think she's frustrated about being so anxious. What I don't understand is why she won't get help. She cut off our conversation earlier, too.

That's great! I bet that helps so much. Sorry you have GAD.
