I have a paranoid fear that there is an FBI agent listening to my conversations and conversations with myself through my phone and laptop, and I also believe this person can see what is going on through my phone and laptop.

Is this normal? I feel like there is a strong leaning that there is a third party listening and viewing me through my phone or laptop but at the same time I'm not a criminal, what would the FBI want to hear what I have to say?

This fear has been going on for a while now. I feel like it makes sense because a third part could hack the audio or video but at the same time what are the odds the FBI is spying on my phone or laptop?

I feel like I'm crazy.

I feel like this stemming from meme pages who talk about "their FBI agent" overhearing something silly they say and commenting on it, as well as the FB ads where people say "I was literally just talking about this, then I got the ad about the same thing"

If its gonna take them a couple of years to take the michigan militia to court for their actual plot to kidnap the governor, i really dont think anybody is coming after us plain old whiners and complainers! Thats how i look at it.

Yeah I have this same fear and sometimes it makes me so paranoid I get sick to my stomach. And then ads come up on Facebook or I get weird emails and I want to throw out the entire phone.

Funny story though, yesterday I logged into my family’s Amazon account after looking at very private things “anonymously.” So ALL my searches showed up on my family’s browsing history. I had no idea that would happen. My stomach dropped when I saw it but luckily I was able to erase them before anyone saw them.

LL, that sounds more like paranoia than a phobia to me. Thinking you are being watched or listened to is a type of psychosis/paranoia that commonly happens with schizophrenia, but I can't remember if you are diagnosed with that or not... have you talked to a doctor or therapist about this fear or just on here?

I can imagine how scary that must be. This seems like paranoia to me, too. Have you considered talking to your therapist about it? I hope they'll be able to help you get rid of this fear.
