does anyone here ask people for their email addresses, just because it makes them feel safer knowing they are close by?

I've sort of got in to a habbit where when I meet someone, the first thing I ask for is their email address (sometimes they don't want to give it to me, and that makes sense)

but in most cases it helps me feel closer to the person- so if they are away for an extended amount of time, I can write them.

my friend's going to florida next month and she says I can email her all the way in america

it's so comforting to me

but also how can I not ask for their email address as soon as I meet someone

it's not exactly an opening line of conversation, especially if you've just messed

Default Re: email addresses

I can see why people have issues with giving up their email address...

My solution is having multiple email addresses.

One for close family and others I know who will not go rogue on me.

I have others for people I'm not sure I am comfortable with and have an email address for those I don't want them knowing much of my life.

Issue solved
