I have a real self esteem issue when it comes to the time it takes me to complete exams. I have to utilize disability support services on campus for extra test time. I feel like it's an unfair advantage for me over other students.

is adhd linked to slow thinking? I tend to get stuck on a problem and keep re thinking it. I also read and think slow. I have to take extra time on questions that involve positive and negative, increase, decrease left and right.

i scored an A in general chemistry 1 and 2 but can't seem to take more than one hard class per semester in college.

is it the ADHD medication and/or the SSRI slowing me down? I was slow before ADHD medication.

is this what they mean when they say "your slow" referring to IQ? i score average to a hairline above average on IQ tests.

How can I increase my speed so I can take the exams with everyone else and not have to sit in the special room?

If you qualify for disability services you should use them and do not worry about what other students do or that you may be having some kind of unfair advantage. All you are "getting" is a level playing field.

Adhd can be comorbid with other learning issues. Have you ever been tested for anything? Adhd can also affect your focus, and hyperfocus so that you can become hung up on certain things and have trouble switching gears.

Medication doesnt slow you down like that. It helps you focus but it doesnt make your speed slow. I do not put any stock in IQ tests. If you are not a good test taker then you will do poorly.
