I'm boring because my brain doesn't seem to hold the info others use for conversation. I cannot remember a thing about singers, actors, names of people I've met less than 6-7 times... And since I cannot remember enough info to connect facts properly, I end up not watching the news either. I've given up, sort of. I am at a loss about what to do on the matter of being aware of the world around me. I often cannot think properly unless I have a pen in my hand and write down my thoughts. I am unable to connect my own thoughts unless I write them down! I think it's due to ADD making focusing on stuff so hard for me.
Anyone else has the same problem?

Quanticia, sorry I am responding but read your post. And that your struggling

I usually have to write down, or write out an email for work, before I call out to the perso I need to talk to.. this helps me get my thoughts in order myself.. I usually have to do an email first, even if in draft before speaking as things can get really jumbled or forgetting. I some times read it when I am on the phone or sitting beside the person, as I may forget in the moment a point.
I have always thought it good practice for what ever my struggles are... but then again, idk if my issue is adhd or just a spastic thinking at times.

Other times I shock myself, and can explain things with out the pen and paper but I am visualizing it in my head as much as I can and usually have "lived an example a few times " .. and not looking at the person.

sorry if this gives no comfort but I don't think your alone.
I am sorry you are struggling and hope others hop on to give you better support.

I experience the same issues... Socializing is a disaster.. to the point I only socialize if I can’t get out of it... I love to read but even that is a struggle, my comprehension sucks... And is even worse when in public, like a work conference, work education session, etc...

Write it down, forget about it, remember to revisit, recollect your thoughts and how you make your next conclusion will bring back memories of whatever you are forgetting most. Last night I told a story I have not told in years, and of course I think I adjusted the events to convey a fitting story. Practice speaking out loud as a form of exercise for your brain. In keeping your brain active, practicing social conversation is one way to stay fit.

Hello, I am Chris and I am responding to your ad on memory problems. I have been taking medicine to stop seizures and I have noticed losses in my memory for the last 10 years since I was 50. I forget everyone's names. I forget where I used to work and live as well. I forget so many incidents and even if I write it down it is like reading someone else's story. The neurologist told me to expect it and he was right. Do you guys have any comments regarding ways to improve memory. I am really just getting used to it but I would love to improve it if possible. Thanks so much for listening and I offer my kindness and appreciation as well. Have a wonderful week

This is my exact same issue!! Word for word! I thought I was weird for it/ completely alone. People would bring up actors and names and I would be so confused.... I also feel extremely disconnected because I just can’t remember much of anything. It really sucks because I can’t contribute much to conversations because of it. People think I’m being rude or that I hate them because I don’t actively participate but it’s really me not being able to hone in on whatever it is they’re talking about.

Omg I'm horrible with my memory. I have great long term memory ( maybe too great) but my short term is horrible. My boyfriend or dad have to repeat themselves constantly to me so I'll understand or its like learning something over and over again
