When I take 50mg Vyvanse at 8am (40 minutes to wake up), it lasts until 4-5pm. When I take 50mg at noon, it lasts until 8-9pm.

What if I take 30mg at 8am (An hour to wake up), then 30mg at noon if I have nothing to do in the morning. When I have something to do in the morning, I can take 2x 30mg at 8am?

I can't go to sleep at 9pm. I just can't. I need to sleep at 12am because 9pm-12am is my peak thought time. My thoughts are faster but I can't focus.

I want to wake up and enjoy the morning and being able to focus before 12am too =[

If I really have to sleep 12 hours a night, I think taking 60mg at noon would allow me to focus from 9pm-12am anyways so..

(Me sleeps too much)

I had to register but your question was worth it.

I take 1x 30mg at 8am and 1x 30mg at 12pm noon.

That works well but not well enough. I also take a varied amount of Dexmethlyphenidate of 10mg. Normal is 1 at 8am, 1 at 12pm and 2 at 4pm. I start making mistakes after 10PM. On busy days I'll add as needed.

So 2x 30mg and 4x 10mg per day. You might consider adding the instant boost for those times you need it.

Not sure if this helps but thought I’d share so you know we can all struggle with getting the Meds & doses right... I was taking Ritalin, 20 mg in morning and 10-20 mg mid afternoon, depending on my plan for the rest of the day. But I also was still not focusing/ concentrating well. The Dr. Has newly prescribed Concerta (long acting 60mg) wish me luck that the new med holds me all day and provides better results..

From experience, I know how hard it is to find the medication and dosage that works for you and your lifestyle. Have you discussed this problem with your doctor? I was diagnosed at 50 and I am now almost 73. Ritalin made me feel a bit nuts - shaky as in too much coffee! I used dexedrine for a while and when I switched doctors he would not prescribe that for me so he put me on Vyvanse. I took a large dose but I knew it wasnt as effective as dexedrine - so I hit medicare and Kaiser Perm. which says oh, Vyvanse is too expensive - I agreed and they put me back on dexedrine. I am a happy camper these days. So my suggestion to you is to keep plugging away - if your doctor isnt helpful, find another one. ADHD is particular to each individual who has it and without trial and error, you cant find your magic bullet - but stay at it - your persistence could give you results that might last the rest of your life - Good luck to you!

Because of my absorption issues and my disdain for vyvanse I take multiple doses of adderall xr a day.

I decided to stick to 50mg Vyvanse every morning and sleep when necessary.. By sleep I mean lie down, rest and do nothing for 45-90 minutes occasionally in the evening.

I need the time to cool down my brain because I get exhausted.

I used sleeping pills when I was off the stimulant but I was still sleeping 1-2 times every 12 hours without it. Now I can stay up for a whole 12-16 hours with the occasional rest in the middle.

I'm basically on the perfect med cocktail right now and don't use an antidepressant =]

I take 70 mg of Vyvanse in the morning and it typically lasts about 10 hours. That's usually enough to get me through my work day. I experience a resurgence of my ADHD symptoms in the evening when the medicine wears off. So far I haven't talked with my prescribing provider about an additional dose of medication (something short acting) in the evening for fear of being seen as a drug seeker. I may down the road if it continues to be problematic. For now though I'm happy to have the Vyvanse during the day. It's been life changing. And, coincidentally, I can nap a lot easier on Vyvanse than when I wasn't on it.
