Default How come the mental health workers don't know what I have?

I never went to a pediatrician as a small child. In fact, I didn't even receive my vaccinations until I was 5. I needed to have them before I went to school. I had lots of developmental delays as a child. I was evaluated by the elementary school when I was in second grade. They said that I could stay in school because my IQ was 104. They said something about autism. My mom tried to kill me when I was 2 years old. She says she doesn't remember anything about me as a child.

I just recently took a number of online tests for autism. All of them said I most likely have autism. I think I might have asperger disorder. Yet, the mental health workers won't evaluate me for an autism spectrum disorder. Why not?

Hi Joshuas-mommy,

Thank you for sharing.

Firstly, I am so sorry to hear about your Mother trying to kill you... That is horrific! My heart goes out to you.

I am curious what you mean when you say that the mental health workers will not evaluate you for Autism Spectrum Disorder. Have you asked for them to do so? Have they declined? Have you suggested the possibility that you resonate with ASD?

Thanks,
HD7970ghz

If many mental health professionals don't think you have autism, then you probably don't have it. Your developmental delays were probably caused by the abuse you faced as a child. I'm so sorry you've had it so rough .
