Did the Autism Quiz and got a score of 19.
I was in some ways a very strong Asperger until lately at age 40 and my both parents are severe Aspergers as well.

I got a 33. I'm going to see a neurologist for evaluation and possible diagnosis.

I'm professionally diagnosed. Got 35 on the quiz. I have gotten a little better at fitting in over time, if I was to take the quiz 10 years ago I'm sure my score would have been a little higher.

The AQ test is flawed. It comes from what one guy think is autism, he defines it a little different than we do. So getting a high score means you have his style autism.

Today I scored 27. Which is below having autism. And I have a solid diagnosis of aspergers.

I tested at a 35.
I'm 38 years old, and I feel a bit old for ANOTHER diagnosis in mental health.
Honestly, what's the point of being diagnosed with this disorder at 38?
How on Earth would that help me in ANY way.
Now, it's just one more thing to hide or be ashamed of.
Ugh.
I escaped the dx when I left the USA 10 years ago. I was diagnosed, but I never took those records overseas.
So, I just owned the Bipolar diagnosis. Which, has enough to go with it...
What does being autistic even mean?
I don't see how knowing this could help me in the future whatsoever.
Disappointed.

It's the first diagnosis that actually meant something to me. I was diagnosed around your age and older than that with ADD. For me it really explained why my life had played out as it did.

If it doesn't make you understand better, you should ask yourself if maybe the high score means nothing in your case. Or you could read up on aspergers and see if it reminds you of anything.

It's not a disease and nothing that should cause shame.
