Hi everyone.

My son has 5 years old, he has Autism in low grade, last year on August 1st. his grandfather dies, he used pass a lot of time with him and love him very much, a few weeks later my son stop talking, we think that is related to his grandfather die's and think it would pass in a few days, but the time keep going pass and I didn't see this going to change.
Right now he communicate with sounds, paintings, writing or whatever he has to make we understand him.

At the school him is doing very well, he play, run make a lot of noise, has friends.

4 month ago we start with a psychologist but at the moment we doesn't have results.

I looking for ideas to help him to with this.

Welcome to Psych Central, Bio. You may also find the Healthy Parenting forum, here on PC, to be of interest. Here's a link:

https://psychcentralforums.com/healthy-parenting/

Here's a link to a listing of articles, from Psych Central's archives, on the subject of healing from grief and loss. Included are links to articles that focus on helping children deal with grief. Also here's a link to a podcast on the subject of helping children grieve:

I hope you find PC to be of benefit.

Hi, Bio, and welcome to Psych Central! While you're waiting to hear from the doctor, I'd suggest trying not to worry about his non-talking--and just love him.

Just a thought. Would it help if he had a pet or a teddy bear or some such. I'm just thinking he might like spending time with one and perhaps might talk to them

I'm no expert--just a mom.
