Tomorrow would have been my 25th anniversary. I got divorced in November. Although I've managed to get through life this far....... Avoidant personality is is now causing me some old problems. Meeting new people is hard. I feel lonely and sad.

Divorce has its own grieving process. November is still relatively recent.

Hi there, I was only married for 3 years (together 9). I totally understand where your coming from. I made a recent post in another AvPD thread that kinda told my life story. You should check it out I think you can find it through my profile. I put in some things I'm doing to kind of get myself out there. I can share that part with you now.
Meetups.com - if you haven't heard of it check it out. It's a great way to see whats out there. Deal with the anxiety first if you can and being genuinely open about what your experiencing I found that people are actually not as evil as I thought.
I have a mixed bag, I have anxiety meetings, depression meetings, some physical activities, and some real soul searching meets. Healthy body, mind, and soul is the key to feeling like a person again rather than a husk of a shell (I only assume that's how you feel since that is how I felt). Not going to lie, I still hurt even though my divorce started last Thursday I feel good about myself for once in my life just getting to know the real me.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
