Hey everyone!

Even though it's something that we all must do, it's a big success for me every time I am able to clean up my living space. I live in such crap and I just let things like laundry, housework etc., just pile up.

But not today! Today I cleaned! Everything is so shiny and new and I feel so much better!

Anybody else?

Yay. I did a bunch of laundry, made a nice dinner and cleaned the kitchen all shiny clean. I love waking up to a clean kitchen
It's a good start to the day

Small victory

Cleaned all my dishes. All that's in the sink right now is a spatula and a knife.

Still need to clean my house the next few days BUT I did clean my car out today for the first time in years! OMG the things I found! Im going back to work after being off for 3.5 months and use the car for work so feeling good for having it nice and clean for my mobile office. Now just have to make sure I wake up for a shift tomorrow .

Yes, did a pretty deep clean plus laundry after about 6 weeks!

I live alone so I can be a slob, BUT, the apartment maintenance crew had to enter a few weeks ago when I was not home as there was a leak in a neighbors place and they needed to check and SO embarrassing as my place was horrid. I want to avoid that happening again.

So, I cleaned everything up a few weeks ago, and it was such a miracle! I am moving soon, so I cleaned out all the papers and all the junk that I have been holding onto for years. It felt so good getting rid of all that clutter!

Now I am upkeeping it, by keeping my room relatively clean. It feels so good!

I am a stay at home dad and clean, transport my kids, laundry dishes daily and about spring clean once a week. It is expected now and when I’m not well I fail to meet my wife’s expectations. I had to realize that even those close to us don’t always get it. I do my best and am grateful for what I can do.

LadyShadow, excellent thread! I’ll be a “regular” posting my progress. My dad died two months ago and I inherited his house (which I really am grateful for). He was not a pack rat or unclean....but it is a big house and he never sorted through my mom’s things when she died. I need to go through thirty years of house things and ... well, I’m overwhelmed.

Showered (does that count?) and put fresh sheets on the bed last night. Cleaned the kitchen and my bathroom, too. I’ve been sick with the flu and I’m sooo behind in laundry.

I slept well so I will have the energy to tackle it today.

Thank you! Once I cleaned everything up, and got organized, I realized that it really isn't about being lazy, it was mostly about being symptomatic and unmotivated, and just.....overwhelming, especially if you are bipolar.

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad's passing, and having to go through your mother's stuff too. It must be overwhelming! My advice is try not look at it as a HUGE mountain you can't overcome, but take it piece by piece, a little every day, you know to put you mind at ease a bit.

Showering and changing sheets is an accomplishment too! (In fact there is a "I Took A Shower Today" thread here just for that. It seems everyone is down with the flu these days, be really careful, and if it gets worse PLEASE go see a doctor.

As for me, my place is a bit messy, but I plan on tackling everything this weekend, laundry included.

Yep, know exactly how that goes. Cleaned a few days ago myself. It does feel good to accomplish that. Good job.

It was my goal to clean this weekend. My son came over to help me break down boxes. It is work getting them to the garbage on the apartment complex. Now that the boxes are gone the room feels better. The bathroom kitchen and laundry are all on tomorrow's list of things to do. I've been eating out so there aren't many dishes in the sink. It's things like getting rid of mail and wiping down counters and unloading the dishwasher that make me want to go back to bed.

I'm glad you had the energy and motivation to clean. It definitely feels good to get that stuff done, doesn't it?!

I am currently trying to do a little each day both with outdoor house maintenance as well as indoor clutter that's built up over the last few months and gotten really bad. It's a little overwhelming but I'm just taking it slowly and I'm at least glad that I have the energy to do more than I did before.

My 20 year old daughter just moved out last Saturday (half a week ago) and in her moving my 18 year old son and I have been slowly cleaning laundry and the whole appartment in general. He found tons of laundry that I'm washing load by load. (I figure its probably dirty if it wasn't put away.)

I changed my sheets after washing them tonight and remade my bed. I got a shower and feel so refreshed all clean in a clean bed!

I spent the day cleaning my apartment including the bathroom and vacuuming, laundry, dusting, mopping, dishes and cooked dinner. It feels great!
