7/16/2023 success. Not only took a shower and washed myself thoroughly with a sponge, but also moisturized my whole body with CeraVe moisturizer immediately upon getting out of the shower.

Did not wash my hair, though, because I did not have time for it today.

Going to the theatre now.

I took a shower i've been procrastinating on. I don't know why i have such trouble doing it. It's actually somewhat pleasant when i'm in there. And i love feeling clean and having fluffy hair. I have greasy hair and it's a real curse. My hair gets stringy and stuck to my head if i don't pay vigilant attention to it. I've been chained to the shower my whole life. I considered shaving it before the shower. A shaved head is very unflattering on me but i'm so f_____g sick of showering! Since COVID i've been lax tho. I'm still not seeing people on a regular basis, so i let it go. It's uncomfortable tho. But i had a pleasant surprise this shower. I forgot that i cleaned the tub, so that cheered up the experience.

IT IS DONE!

7/17/23 another shower, this time after more than an hour on the rowing machine, covering the equivalent of 10 km on the water and dripping sweat. Did not do the moisturizer today and did not wash my hair. At some point I will need to wash my hair, but for that I will need to take a shower in the morning or early afternoon when I still have time for my hair to air dry because I do not use a blow dryer.

I took another shower! I didn't think i'd be able to because i did a heavy chore yesterday and am quite sore, sore hands even. But i just felt like it, so i said, whatever, and did it! So niiiiiiiiiiice to be clean and have fluffy hair! I tried to shower mindfully. What am i in such a darn rush for in there, anyways? I slowed down my soaping to a stop a couple times and really TRIED to experience the shower. I've heard that paradoxically, a boring task becomes more interesting if you pay attention to it.

Anyways, i feel like a champion!!!

I have been only retouching of my roots. with my gray hair picking up the color differently, light. It looks like I high light my hair but I don't, that is the gray. So my undergrowth at the back of my hair is like an ash color and the front of my hair is blond with high lights.
thanks for asking. bizi

I am going to go work out (one hour of the workout itself plus 5 minutes to warm up and about 5-10 minutes to cool down). I will need a shower when I am back. The trouble is, I will by then have been already completely cooled down since I will have walked from the little gym in this apartment complex to my apartment, and it is no longer hot outside. And taking a shower when I am not hot from the workout anymore it just not as pleasant. Some years ago I had a person trainer at the gym at my former place of employment and there I would take a shower right in the gym's lockers while still feeling hot and that was oh so gratifying. But now it is not. It is just, well, taking a shower.

Success 07/31/23 took a long shower, washed and conditioned my hair. Did not moisturize afterwards.

Prior to the shower, did only 30 minutes plus warm-up and cool-down on the treadmill because my phone"s battery died and without music it was boring to continue for much longer.

But I did 30 mins at 3 mph with a 3% incline and while wearing a 12 lb weighted vest.

I feel so serene now.

I took a shower and washed my hair on August 2nd....Hate that. Once I am done I like feeling clean but I have to force myself into the shower.
I am always worrying That I will run out of hot water.

Is it a rational concern where you live?

Have you consider sensuous ways to make taking a shower more pleasant? I have recently bought an orange-colored, orange-scented body wash and I look forward to using it. It also flows easily from the bottle. Before, I had unscented Cetaphil body wash and it was a pain to get it out of the bottle. I finally tossed it. I do not react badly to scented products (I know certain people do), so I am going to continue using the orange gel (which is also much cheaper than the Cetaphil product) that I actually like. When I run out of it, I might experiment with other colors and scents.

What products do you use while in the shower?

I am a little bit OCD. (obsessive compulsive disorder).
I have a dispenser that you fill up the containers and then you pump to get either shampoo or liquid body wash, The conditioner does work any more.
The shampoo is great smelling and I am used to it, it is a color conserve shampoo from aveda. the body wash is honey/almond scented and gentle
enough to use all over my body with out stinging my private parts.
I have to concentrate very carefully to fully get the job done. like start at my
head, shampoo 8 pumps, clean ears 3 pumps of wash, under arms 5 pumps of wash, private parts are also 8 pumps. then I have an aveda damage control

conditioner that needs to stay on my hair for 3-5 minutes, it is a mask
for my hair. I only usually leave it on a minute. my shower takes 20 minutes then I have to dry every part of my body. Even though I have short hair It still takes me a while to dry it. get dressed and style my hair which is straight and short, it still takes me an hour to do all of that. and Even though we have a new hot water heater, I am still afraid of running out of hot water. especially if hubby has taken a shower before me. I will wait a while before getting in.
I set my alarm for 8 so I can snooze a few times before getting up.
I am not a morning person so it is hard to get out of bed early.

Have tried washing my hair at night and gone to bed with wet hair and that did not work out well. I have tried to style it then go to bed.that worked out ok.
I think the real problem is that I am extremely over weight over 50 pounds, and I hate it.
so taking a shower forces me to really see how fat I am. I have to touch my belly I look 9 months pregnant, well maybe not 9 but I have a beer gut. I drink too much alcohol. Which is a different post.

Thank you for responding to my thread.

I can relate!

I am still very obese even after all the weight loss. I weigh about 222 lbs and the upper limit of normal BMI range for me is 150 lbs (I never hope to get there) so I am more overweight than you are, but I no longer have a severe belly. I used to, when I weighed 265-275 lbs and I vividly recall how I bad I felt about it. It was just so bad, so bad.

***

For my private parts only, I use a Sweet Spot Labs product I get from Amazon.com (it is PH-balanced and you only need a tiny bit; it goes a long way; I now get unscented but I used to experiment with their scents).

***

I love Aveda products.

Well, I ended up taking a shower in the morning before work but not washing the hair. I did not have time for it and I decided it was not that dirty or tangled up and OK for the hairdresser to see.

I just stepped in the shower really fast, right after I decided to take it and not allowing myself time to procrastinate. And it was easy and pleasant, and I did moisturize my whole body and face afterwards. The ease of all of that reminded me of periods in my life when taking a shower was not at all problematic for me; it was something I could do daily.
