After a workout at Orangetheory that left me red in the face and sweaty, took a hot shower, washed and detangled my hair, and then followed up by a couple of temp contrasts. Was able to finish off with cold water all over the body and head. Felt really refreshed and energized for the rest of the evening.

I finally took a proper contrastive shower after swimming in the pool this morning: several switches from hot to cold and back to hold, finishing with cold. I would not say that the coldest water here is really that cold as it didn't give me that characteristic burning sensation but still, I was invigorated.
Forgot to take moisturizer with me. Oh well. __________________ Bipolar I w/psychotic features Last inpatient stay in 2018 Geodon 40 mg Seroquel 75 mg Lybalvi 5 mg as a PRN Gabapentin 1200 mg, Vitamin B6 and B-complex (against extrapyramidal side effects) Long term side effects from discontinued medications: - hypothyroidism from Lithium - obesity from Depakote, Zyprexa, Elavil |

I am generally curious, what factors do you use when deciding if you want to shower?
I mean, do you do it every day because it makes you feel good, do it because you notice you smell, or do it because you're going somewhere- do you not shower if you know you are spending the day at home on your own? I'm just curious. what makes you get in the shower |

For myself, I never shower if I know that I am going to spend the day at home on my own. I also firmly believe that daily showers for people leading sedentary lifestyles are excessive and a waste of water and time.
I usually shower after exercise at moderate or high intensity and also after using the sauna and steam room.
