Hi all, Every day from late afternoon to bedtime I have extremely blurred vision. It's getting worse lately...vision blurry, eyes irritated and keep tearing. I told Dr. W. and she said, "It's probably the Cogentin".

Anyone else have blurry vision from meds? How do you deal with it?

Hi BethRags,, This sounds quite miserable .I've had very irritated eyes in the past when meds were too drying. I had great luck using some all natural tear drops.

Hi Bethrags. Early in my Tegretol XR treatment (at a low dose of either 400 or 600 mg), I had bouts of both blurry and double vision. In that case, the double vision was the most disconcerting. Tegretol is known for causing those side effects. However, my vision issues on this med eased, and then disappeared, as I grew used to it.

I hadn't had that side effect for years, then I had a couple bouts again. I called my psychiatrist and he slightly lowered my dose from 1,400 mg (quite a high dose) to 1,200 mg (still a high dose) and it disappeared. I haven't had the vision issues since. That was maybe two years ago.

Thanks for the replies. I hope this goes away after some time. It's very annoying and uncomfortable.

Wild Coyote Do you recall the name of the drops you used? I've tried Visine and it burns like hell.
