What was the best AD you took for bipolar? Do you still take it?

I can't take any ADs not even trazodone. Only APs and mood stabilizers

Same as Nammu above, but I know many do benefit from ADs. My "antidepressants" are Lamictal and Seroquel XR (moodstabilizer and antipsychotic).

Sometimes people may take a stimulating med temporarily, then back off from it, if they are prone to manic switches. Not just ADs, but some benefit from actual stimulants, like Modafinil (Provigil).

Prozac brought me out of a depression really quickly, but I had to stop it before my mood got too elevated.

Emsam. I've been on it over 10 years now, unheard of for me and meds. It works so well and is a bit activating which is a good thing with clozapine on board.

I've only taken sertraline and escitalopram. Escitalopram made me manic at the minimum therapeutic dose (10mg), but was not effective at the next lowest dose (5mg). I'm currently on sertraline, though, and it works great. I take 50mg.

Celexa, I had to stop taking it because my jaw clenched.
I'm currently on lexapro and it's okay.

I was desperately depressed in November of 2018 and my pdoc prescribed Pristiq. It worked very well. I still take it. 75mg. None of the many other AD's I tried worked at all.
