I was just curious about Vraylar as it relates specifically to bipolar. Do the commercials tell the truth? Does it really cover the spectrum of bipolar symptoms, or if it more like Abilify, which for me acts as a mood stabilizer but not as an antidepressant; hence why I take the Lexapro too. I mean, I'm not sure if my insurance (medi-cal) would even cover it, but I just thought it might be worth trying for if it really is a good medicine. I have a telephone meeting with my pdoc coming up and I've been thinking about asking about it.
I apologize if there is a thread about this already. It's been a long time since I've been on and it'd probably take me all day to search the forums for it. __________________ Bipolar I; ADD Abilify 10mg Escitalopram 20mg Amphetamine Salts 30mg / day Zolpidem 5 - 10mg prn for zzz Last edited by cmorales; May 11, 2020 at 07:56 PM.. |

I would probably be more open to vyralar if I could stop seeing all of the biased sterotypical commercials about it. What's with the cameras? In the current commercial and the commericial before that when the women begin taking this drug they have to clean up one of the typical bipolar messes. ( I have bpII). The messes include all kinds of camera equipment and in the current one a woman's mom came over to help clean up and they are cleaning up cameras too! Then there are the roller coaster ones and the one where she is balancing on a house of cards. It could be the best drug in the world but their ads turn me off so much I would not consider taking it.

Halliebeth is correct. Alos, there are many times when a pdoc can TAR a prescription.
