DD here,
Was diagnosed first with recurrent major depression and some years later bipolar after a multi AD combo flipped me into mania. It seems that the manic end of things is very easy to prevent (don't give multiple anti-depressants without a mood stabilizer) but I continue to have disabling and usually prolonged depressive episodes. My current depression started early last November, despite being on lithium. Often there is a seasonal component, although once started the depression sometimes lasts as long as 2 years. Since June 2012 I have only worked 6 months total, so the recent depressions have been quite severe and disabling.

Hi all. Posting here because recently my therapist brought up the idea that I might have Bipolar II. I'm seeing my psychiatrist on Tuesday to get a firm answer on that, but right now I think it fits. My mood's been all over the place for the last month so I'm a little off. In any case, I hope to learn more.

Hello all. I am new here. I've been dealing with GAD and depression, and was recently upgraded to BPII. I fired my PDOC after a friend/psych nurse suggested I get a second opinion, hence the upgrade. I have been waiting on an appointment with a new PDOC in mid October. The second op guy saw me as a favor, and recommended this new, and very busy one.

I've been taking Lamotrigine; for a few years since I had a major breakdown. My soon to be ex PDOC has been monkeying around with antidepressants. She had me on an SNRI and SSRI at the same time. Started having serotonin syndrome symptoms, and I am now off cymbalata all together, and still on sertraline until I see this new one. It amps me up and derails my sleep.

I've been reading this form for about 6 weeks now and decided to jump in!

I have Bipolar (unspecified...one doctor diagnosed me with Bipolar I with Psychotic Features, another diagnosed me with II) and OCD. Originally diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder when I was 17.

Currently on Seroquel and Zoloft. Flunked out of Latuda (caused breathing problems) and Abilify (made me more manic).

Hi, I'm new here, too. Tried to make a post today, not sure if I did it right or if it was moderated/blocked.
Hope everyone's having a nice Saturday evening!
