It's been a while since I've posted a thread. Replying is easier.

I'm looking for pastimes, not hobbies.
I have a few hobbies, however, to kill time, I play............. you guessed it.
Candy Crush.

Stupid game at first. When I was a stupid player.
First time I played, spent .99 cents to keep on playing.
I couldn't believe I could have this much fun for free.
Since then, I've passed 678 levels without spending a penny.

It teaches you to be tenacious. Like playing a level many times, and not paying.
Gives your reflexes a good ride. And your eye sight improves inside your brain.

Believe it or not, it has made me a better poker player.
I've gone from aggresive, to passive agressive. Big difference.

Well enough about me and CC.
I'm in no way affiliated with them, unfortunately.

Again, what is your pastime.

Cheers.

I enjoy doing a lot of internet research. I am now also studying French again. I'm extremely interested in politics and social issues. I often write letters (or online contact emails) to various politicians and other people I'm interested in, such as writers, doctors, contacts at companies, organizations, and others. Though I haven't done much writing for my blog lately, I used to write daily. I also followed many other people's blogs. My blogs of interest vary. Some focus on poetry, health issues (including mental health), photography, travel, nature, cultures around the world, cooking, social issues, music, reflections, humor, and more. Those are also topics in my blog. I enjoy story telling, too.

Reading indie writers on my Kindle. I’m not a fan of big established writers they make plenty of money. I like to support the little independent folks.

I can read a book in a day if I want.

I have many passtimes. Reading is the biggest one, I love books. Others would be journaling, learning different languages (Italian, Spanish, and Japanese), listening to music, drawing or coloring, puzzles, and videogames.

Also enjoy learning about stuff in general, I use Khan Academy. It's a free website you can learn about many different subjects like different types of math, history, science, etc. I have many interests so I tend to never get bored

I used to write a lot, but thanks to haldol my creativity has plummeted. I also like to read and watch documentaries on Netflix.

I have always loved reading, but I found after spending all day doing school work, or now reading and working on a computer, I do not feel like it much these days. I am hoping to start reading more again, though. I also used to play violin, but can't find joy in that lately. Now that my mood is improved I am more excited to get back into it. I swim or do physical activity when I can physically handle it. I enjoy volunteering, another thing I want to get back into. I am hoping to start gardening this spring with a friend, nothing major, just a couple types of flowers and vegetables.

I used to write daily too (both creatively and in a journal)

I still do the creative part (sometimes), but gave up on the journal

I spend a lot of time on the Internet, probably more than is good for me, but I'm always learning new things and enjoy communicating with people from all over the world. I also keep up my blog and write for the world's largest nursing forum. I used to read a lot but can't anymore because I get distracted, which is why it takes me hours to write a blog post or article. It's a labor of love.

It depends on my mood. My favourite is swimming in the ocean then sitting on the shore. Other than that I love listening to, and occasionally playing (on guitar), music. I read when I can concentrate. To be honest the bulk of my downtime is music or TV (Netflix, YouTube, etc).

Hi, I'm reading all your responses with awe. Were are you getting your drive from? I manage to get to work, I dictate more or less when i work, but hole myself up as much as possible because i can't stand being around other people. It's unhealthy, so i try and walk, to keep thin, but its also a form of self punishment, i like photography, but find it pointless because there's no one to share it with, seriously, I'm divorced twice, live in s trailer park, going 50 and i might as well be 90. Yet i can't see the point, or get the drive? What's the point of living if its more of the same? Create a life worth living.... how? Dont you have to value life to make it worth living?
