My posts keep disappearing 🤷🏼*♀️ I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong. I’m feeling discouraged. I recently left a job in the mental health field after being treated terribly by my boss for 4 years. She was a psychologist and had major issues. She was awful. I still am having bad dreams all these weeks later. I have 2 master’s degrees and am currently working part-time as a lunch lady at a school. I’m realizing how my mental health has affected my ability to work professionally and I’m grieving the possibility that I might never have a professional job anymore. I feel a little disoriented and discouraged.

Hey don’t lose hope!!! I’m 100% disabled by the military and social security for my bipolar condition but I know if I focus extremely hard on my health and get it under control I’ll be fine . Health is so important.

Your first 5 posts have to be reviewed by the moderators prior to being released for the general membership to read & reply to. I see you have 5 posts to your credit as I write this. So, from now on, your posts should show up as soon as you submit them.

I have a masters degree and have been disabled for the past 9 years. It's not easy, and I do miss the professional life (and wardrobe!). However, I am doing so much better than I did the last year I was working. Try to find happiness in the day to day activities. Being a lunch lady is a good thing.

It took me a long time to realize that my bipolar was affecting my ability to work. I was always sick, self medicating, manic, depressed and I was always calling in and missing work. It resulted in me being let go from two very good jobs and many times I would quit jobs because I was always depressed or manic. This went on for a period of over 10 years before I was diagnosed.

I had to medically retire because of my bad knees, but eventually I was able to get on SSD for my bipolar disorder. Hang in there. You are not alone in this. You will find a solution that will work for you. All the best!

took a long time for me to face that I could not work either. especially after being high functioning for so many years. I felt I still had much to offer being in the workforce, but after my diagnosis, I came to accept it eventually. It wasn't easy though.

I‘m right there with you -- I have a master's degree as well, and my ability to work is severely affected. I don't know if I'll ever be able to return and function properly. It's a growing fear of mine but with the right medication and hard work, I'm sure I can survive it. Don't give up!

I didn't have a degree but 22 years of military experience set me up for a lucrative job for six years. I have other issues going on but I think that and bipolar would probably kill any chance for a security clearance, and even online school causes too much anxiety. I can't do physical work, retail, or fast food due to various health issues.
