The two lawyers are supposed to start settlement talks this afternoon. I am so nervous that I don’t think I can get any work done today. My anxiety has been so high and I have been in a bad downward spiral that my T threatened not to see me again if I didn’t get a higher level of treatment. I have just been a huge mess for months. It is hard to believe that it might soon be over. I just hope I get some of what I want/need.

So please cross your fingers for me.

Well they screwed me over. They are only willing to let me keep my job but there is nothing stopping my boss from firing like he wants to when the dust settles. They won’t even pay for my attorney’s fees.

They said they did nothing wrong and will not pay. They said they tried to help me and why can’t I get that through my head. They ignore my accommodations. This is what happens when you try to get justice for being discriminated for having a mental illness. They just say it is your fault and you can’t understand. All I asked for was a transfer and back pay for the raises they denied me for false reasons. It wasn’t like I was asking for a million dollars.

That is awful Crook32. Discrimination is rife when it comes to mental illness. I am so sorry this happened. Thinking of you and hoping things turn around for you in some way soon.

I'm sorry this didn't work out for you like you had hoped. Hugs.

Is your T still pushing for you to go into the hospital?

I've never believed in hiring a lawyer except under duress and I'm sorry for you that your case panned out unsatisfactorily. What did your lawyer say were your options now?

I am interviewing in a different department next week. They set up 8 interviews over 4 days. I think it is kind of crazy. If I don’t get that job I don’t know what I will do.

Well it is over. Just as expected the company found itself innocent of doing anything wrong. Also the lawyers who did their own investigation said they didn’t do anything unlawful. Always nice when you are both judge and jury. They are rushing me to make a decision. So my options are to stay, go, or let the EEOC investigation happen and get an impartial opinion, maybe.

I have been so busy at work that I hope that means they will leave me alone if I decide to stay. That is what I am leaning towards because I really love what I do.
