For me. I got really sick trying keto so I went back to just low calories. But I’ve lost about 11 pounds since the middle of June.
That's a big loss in 6ish weeks. It is great you are able to move toward your goal so quickly. How many calories are you eating a day? I'm following a low calorie plan as well and target 1400 a day. I'm sorry your therapist is giving you a hard time. There shouldn't be any problem as long as you're not restricting too much. People also go through phases where they naturally gain and lose. That shouldn't be cause for concern either unless the loss is so quick that it could be caused by an underlying medical issue or a disorder.

I have decided to check in mornings to see if doing so helps to keep me more mindful during the day?

I have been under a lot of stress lately, and more over the past 2-3 days. Due to childhood trauma, I sometimes "dissociate" under certain circumstances. When someone dissociates, "body awareness" goes out the window! Thus, when under stress, and additionally dissociated, I struggle with being mindful about anything physical, including diet and exercise.

A big challenge for me is "mindful eating."
I am hoping my checking in here will help me to participate in both mindful eating, as well as mindful exercise.

Love to All~

I think checking in is worth a shot. It has helped me to be more accountable for my eating and my exercise. The support has also been helpful.

I also found that tracking my food helps me a lot. It keeps me from eating more than a suggested serving at a time and it helps me to meal plan. I was thinking that if you got into the habit of tracking you might do it even while you are dissociated. That way you could leave yourself a 'trail of breadcrumbs' to come back to and see what you ate. I'm not sure it would work, but wanted to toss it out.

I'm wishing you all the best with this. Good for you for focusing on this aspect of your health!

had a banana, granola bar and a greek yogurt this morning. knee pain is gone. slept good. just some neck and head discomfort but usually some advil or tylenol helps. for lunch I'm about to have a grilled turkey and cheese sandwich and tonight some grilled chicken breast and salad. drinking plenty of water today as well. overall feeling physically good. love to all. hope you are all well!

Jedi, awesome update. I'm so glad the knee is feeling better today. I am sure less pain helps with your mood overall as well. We must be on the same diet today. I had Greek yougurt, granola and fruit for breakfast and I'm about to eat chicken and salad for lunch. I'm not sure yet what's for dinner. I have to go grocery shopping, so it will probably be a hodge podge of whatever the pantry and fridge still have to offer.

I made an obstacle course in the backyard and ran time trials with my kids this morning. That was fun and good exercise. I had to force them to play outside today. It is so strange to me because I loved being outside as a kid. Anyway, they thought the competition was fun so it was a success.

I also just finished up a 30 min circuit training workout, so it has been a good day for exercise. I am getting slightly bored with rotating the same three workouts on my video, so I searched for something new today. I discovered the same trainer has a second video with 4 new workouts so I bought it. I'm excited to change things up. It arrives Wednesday, so I'll probably be sore on Thursday after trying it out.

I think you have proposed a great idea! Thank you!
I know I will honor my decisions, even when dissociated. I generally do whatever I have clearly decided to do. The "clearly decided" is key.

I absolutely think writing it down will help me to keep track and to see just how much I am eating.

Thankfully, I don't dissociate very often. Well.. lately, a bit more.

I did not eat much today. I was super busy. I ate in a healthy way, however.

Love to All ~

My new exercise video came and I jumped right in. It is a bit harder than I expected, but I needed a new challenge. My eating has been ok, but I need to stop eating so much sugar. I get on a roll with desserts and then start expecting them every night. I have kept everything within my calorie limits, but I know the sugar isn't good for me.

I lost .2 lbs again. I was hoping for more, but I have continued to tone my muscles and I think that is offsetting the weight loss. The important part for me is feeling good and I do. I feel healthy and strong and all of my clothes fit well again. I've been exercising almost daily for two months and it has made a big difference. I'm only putting in 30 minutes each day, but it is intense and I focus on improving each time. I needed something I could stick with and my plan has been reasonable to follow.

I hope everyone is having a healthy week! I know so many are suffering with illness and other ailments and I hope they resolve soon.

Did you like your new video?

I have been craving sugar, too. I always do when I start a low carb diet. If I can keep from feeding the cravings, I get over it all in about 1-2 weeks. If I give in, I am a hostage to it for as long as I acquiesce.

I have to, at least initially, eat more protein to survive the cravings.

Wow, fern, its sounds like you are doing a great job!

As for exercise, I had been walking. I have torn the fascia in my foot. It is incredibly painful. I cannot strain it much without causing further damage.

I am trying to think of exercises I can do. I can't stay on my feet right now. I do have a recumbent exercise bike. It is in storage. I might see if someone will help me move it here.

I ate within guidelines today. It helped that I had stayed busy!
My very best to All!

I actually will be getting in our pool tomorrow and doing some laps to help the knees out, can't wait. the pool always improves my mood! good luck with the new workouts! you sound very motivated and I think that's awesome. keep it up. I think some of that energy will rub off on me this week! be well and all the best. thanks for sharing

Thanks WC and Jedi. This thread helps keep me accountable and motivated. Good job to both of you too. You're doing great. Small changes here and there add up in big ways.

Jedi, I love to swim. It is such great exercise and low impact on your joints. Plus, I think there's just something wonderfully restorative about floating in the water. I've also been running through the water lately. It burns, but its a good workout.

WC, do you have access to a pool? That'd be a great way to get off your feet. And I do like my new video. Its the format that I love about it. There are 3 circuits in each video with 3 min of strength, 2 min of cardio and 1 min of abs in each. It moves quickly and I don't have to do any one exercise for long. It is also short enough that I can keep my kids busy with something while I do it. Bonus!

I haven’t made it back to the gym yet. I was busy on Monday after work, and yesterday and today I was too exhausted to go. I hope I will have the motivation tomorrow. I did do some cleaning today so that’s good. I slipped up over the weekend with eating right and today as well. Here’s to renewed motivation tomorrow!

I did make it to the gym today, albeit for twenty minutes instead of thirty. But twenty minutes is better than no minutes.

Great job getting back to the gym as you planned. Twenty minutes is a lot more than I did.

I've been seriously struggling with my eating lately. The last time I got on the scale I was happily surprised with what I saw, considering what I had been consuming. I know I need to get back on. I'll weight myself tomorrow. I don't expect to be as lucky. Hubby isn't exactly helping me either. I asked him to order a few things from a Czech/Slovak store (he's Czech). As usual, he went WAY overboard. See how many candy bars he bought in the attached photo. I'm the usual candy eater, not him. If it was just him, he'd eat the candy in the attached photo over a 2-year period. It's possible they won't even last a month, with me "sharing" them. I had already planned to make a small cake tomorrow for my brother. This is getting to be so difficult!

I am craving chocolate just now!
Do you have anything chocolate?

For some reason, BirdDancer, you always have all of the goodies!!!

I'm glad you are generous in heart!
Now, may I have some chocolate, please?

Wild Coyote and fern, I'd be a heck of a lot better off if I didn't have so many goodies! Sweets are a bit of a weakness for me. Wild Coyote, most of them have some amount of chocolate involved. Fern, most of them are wafer type confections. Czechs love wafer type candy bars ("oplatky" in Czech). Some are wafers with chocolate and/or sweet nut (often hazelnut) or coconut paste, and then covered with chocolate. "Wafers" are kind of like the crunchy part of a Kit Kat bar, but a little thicker than in a Kit Kat. There are some "straws" which are a crunchy kind of edible straw with mostly chocolate or hazelnut mousse stuff inside. There are also some chocolate covered marzipan bars. I love marzipan! If I could share some with you, I would. Actually, they're not quite as high calorie as most American candy bars. Probably because of the wafer elements.

Tomorrow I plan to make my brother a homemade espresso cake. I know he really likes it. Hopefully, I'll send a lot of it home with him afterwards to share with my dad.

I've been craving chocolate so bad! especially dark chocolate. I grilled Italian sausages today and we had beans and mac salad as sides. but I was in the mood for chocolate so bad, I ended up eating two oatmeal raisin granola bars for a snack. tomorrow, I'll have peanut butter chocolate bars for a cheat day. yum!
