Apparently lower carb is good physically for many reasons for me, though losing weight is not one of them.

Back on the lower carb train today. Ate my new favorite breakfast again, pork roll omelette. So good. Those of you who don’t have pork roll are missing out lol. I’m going to continue to eat low carb straight through the holidays if I can. It’s difficult with all those high sugar high refined carb treats around! I know at least one Christmas party I’m going to will be ok as the hostess eats keto. Not sure about the rest!
Another pork roll enthusiast here. And thank you for not calling it "Taylor Ham"! We who know it, know it's not ham. Plus, I'm a Case's gal. Anyone who eats Case's and calls it Taylor Ham might as well call a Burger King Whopper a McDonald's Quarter Pounder. Anyone out there not in the know about pork roll, know that both the Whopper and Quarter Pounder are just two hamburgers. And they don't happen to be ham, either.

Yes... I am absolutely sitting here thinking to myself 'WTH is a pork roll?' And then I cannot get the image of SPAM out of my head.

On a completely unrelated note... Do we need a new thread? We've had 100 pages of physical check ins. Way to go team!

ETA: I looked it up. Sounds a lot like SPAM in a cylindrical form.

Wikipedia had this to offer:
'Larry Olmsted of USA Today has described the taste of the meat as "a cross between Canadian bacon and bacon, less hammy and smoky than Canadian, fattier and saltier than bacon, with a unique texture, both crispy and slightly mushy."

We love the Physical Check-in thread. I look forward to the next installment.

New Jerseyans get passionate about pork roll. We are an odd lot. Did you read on to see President Obama's comment on it when he spoke at Rutgers University years back?

"On May 15, 2016, President Barack Obama gave a commencement speech at Rutgers University's 250th graduation ceremony in which he referenced the "Taylor Ham vs. pork roll debate", saying, "I come here for a simple reason – to finally settle this pork roll vs. Taylor Ham question...I'm just kidding...There's not much I'm afraid to take on in my final year of office, but I know better than to get in the middle of that debate."

Pork roll (first introduced in the mid 1800s) is actually a much older product than SPAM (introduced in the late 1930s).

I have a deep love for New Jersey and its history.
