Is this just one serving, Moose? Don't get angry, but I thought I'd let you know that that smoothie you described would likely be about 750 calories (assuming 1/3 cup skim milk). With one hard-boiled egg added, it would be over 800 calories total. It sounds yummy, but keep the calories in mind if you want to lose weight. I've been only allowing myself 1,200 calories per day. My tall big-boned husband is trying to stay within 1,500 calories per day. I choose my foods strategically to get the "biggest bang for the buck", so to speak.

I have completely lost my appetite since returning from vacation. I am managing a veggie burger or a can of soup a day and I’ve lost 5 pounds since I returned. I know this is NOT healthy. Tomorrow, I’m going to take the bull by the horns and eat breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I’ve fallen down on the exercise part as well. I’ll start that back on Monday.

Physically....I feel fine. I’m grateful for that.

This morning (my weigh in day) I'm down another 1.4 lbs. I actually thought it would be more, but I know it's a good loss. Thing is that I feel like I have lost more. That counts as extra.

So, these past two weeks I've lost 3.4 lbs (1.5 kg) and 1.4 lbs (0.64 kg) = 4.8 lbs (2.2 kg) total.

Great job BirdDancer on another productive week. It seems like your program is paying off. 1.4 lbs in a week is something to be proud of.

I'm still trying to get the scale to move, but I'm trying not to stress about it. I cut out refined sugar the last few days and it has made a difference. I've exercised every day except for 3 days over the last 30 days. I'm happy with that because I know I'm healthier for it. That's the most important part for me.

Wishing everyone a healthy and happy weekend!

How did it go with your eating yesterday? I hope you were able to get a few meals in to boost your energy.

I feel well mood-wise and physically today, but yesterday (Saturday) I was unwell through about 1 pm. The day before (Friday) was very stressful. We had a guest over for dinner, and then a second guest joined us for dessert. We all drank too much. Normally, I won't allow myself more than 1 drink in a day (2 on special occasions), but I confess that I drank about 4 that night. I suffered the consequences because of that and having taken my evening medications too late at night.

I feel very good mood wise but worn out physically with a sore back and sore feet from an active day. It was all worth it though. So sleepy, I may go to bed early.

I’m ashamed to say I’ve had an ice cream cone for food today. I’ll strive to do better tomorrow.

I ate horribly this weekend. My mind said no and my stomach said yes to everything. I am getting back on track this week. No more excuses. I did keep my exercise up at least, so there's that.

I just responded to another post and wrote about how our bodies have a chemical imbalance that causes us to process emotion differently than 'normal' people (I don't believe in normal, but I don't have a better word). I'm now wondering if these same imbalances cause greater than normal cravings for certain foods. I know I go through periods when I simply do not care about what I eat even though I'm trying to be mindful. Sometimes the craving for chocolate is unstoppable!

We eat 2 small squares of dark chocolate after dinner every night. It is bitter enough to stop at 2 but still satisfying.

I think the answer is very likely "yes" about the cravings. At least it seems to be the case for me.

bizi, I have read many times that there are actually health benefits to eating small to moderate amounts of dark chocolate. Especially dark, not so much milk chocolate. I keep some Lindt 85% cocoa chocolate on hand, too. I like chocolate, but it is not my weakness by any stretch. I am also able to stop after one or two squares. I usually enjoy it with a small espresso. I do avoid the chocolates that have fillings that are especially tempting to me, like marzipan.

I see my psychiatrist today. I know what to talk about with him. Sometimes he has a valuable perspective that my therapist doesn't have. Luckily he gives me 20 minutes (or occasionally a little more) of his time per session.

I've been feeling better since Saturday afternoon. Actually, much more stable than when I was "feeling great". I'm glad. I don't want a medication change at this time. Maybe after my psychiatrist returns from his extended vacation.

It's beautiful outside today and a very pleasant temperature at the moment. I'm typing this while sitting on my lovely deck. I'm keeping my eyes out for the hummingbirds.

I thought the health benefits of dark chocolate were common knowledge. Just recently there was an article about Magnesium in Psychology Today (I do not subscribe, but my psychiatrist's waiting area has recent issues of Psychology Today) and dark chocolate was listed as one of the food sources (and supplements do not work - one has to eat foods rich in magnesium).

I also keep dark chocolate in the house on a pretty regular basis. I can only take a square maybe 2 at the most. I don’t know if I actually crave chocolate or just something sweet. I occasionally just get a teaspoon of peanut butter if I really want something “ sweet-ish.

I’m not a huge fruit person in general, most have just too much sugar content even tho it’s natural and not high fructose. This is due to my ED. But I really do love love love veggies raw, steamed or roasted.
