Eucalyptus helps as well. Here's a good resource on several you can try. They also make allergy blends.

That sounds great! I imagine these would at least be available at Whole Foods, or online. Where do you get yours? Thanks!

You can definitely find some of them at whole foods. I get mine from Amazon. For peppermint oil I like one made by Zongle Theraputics. It is the best tasting that I have found. I use a drop or two straight up on my tongue for nausea or to just refresh my breath. I also dab it on my temples and behind my ears for headaches. You can mix it with a bit of coconut oil to make a rub for your chest.

I also like a brand called Majestic Pure. I use their lemon oil in my kitchen diffuser and when I make house cleaners.

You can get the diffuser machines and the diffuser necklaces on Amazon too. They are both relatively cheap.

I love essential oils, too. I have not used them as much this past year, just because it has not been very convenient.
I hope to get back to it. I also use them on my body in carrier oils. My favorite carrier oils being jojoba and almond.
I am glad you have mentioned these, fern. Many diffuse lavender for anxiety/relaxation, and sleep.
I love peppermint and myrrh. Myrrh is often used in spiritual "initiations."
There are many I cannot use because I react to them in a bad way.. I react to many substances/scents, even "natural" ones.
AkA: "Environmental Illness/Multiple Chemical Sensitivities, etc.

In general, I have seen essential oils be very helpful to many.

I love Myrrh. I also used to use frankincense during meditation. I found meditation to be a bit triggering for me, so I haven't used it in a while. It is also good for respiratory issues.

I don't usually have any issues with natural scents, but I have an aversion to most perfumes/colognes. In my early marriage, my husband would buy me perfume. He really likes when women wear it, but I can't stand it. I feel l can't breathe when I smell most perfumes. I sometimes cough. My skin is also quite sensitive to certain things containing heavy perfumes. Some have caused me to develop rashes. Again, not usually natural scents. I think that if I get a natural scented oil just for sniffing now and then, it will be nice. I doubt I'd want to put it on my skin, even so. I usually use Dove soap or a chamomile bath wash. Shampoos tend to mostly be OK for me, but I've had a few cause irritation. Whenever I've started a new medication, I've been sure not to change products for a while. That's important.

Some essential oils are more pure than others.

BirdDancer, you might do well with a diffuser or a similar method.

I use Dove unscented, too. I often use glycerin based soaps and/or Dr. Bonner's products.

Fern is more up on the essential oil facts. It has been awhile for me and things change.

Oh, yes! I am not thinking very well this morning.
Frankincense and myrrh.

I had taken some classes from a NP who was allowed to use essential oils with her clients at her local hospital in Pennsylvania. She also taught CEU courses to other nurses in the medical uses of essential oils.
I cannot recall much today. Head is very fuzzy.

I had used the Oshadi Oils under her instruction. They were the purest at the time. I am sure this has changed and other companies are very pure.; We also had used them because they had Highland Lavender, of which we used a lot. They also had some hard to find oils at reasonable prices, at that time.

Interesting resource for beginning:
Education -- Oshadhi Usa

I learned a lot from Dr. Axe. I also like a book my husband got for me. It breaks down all of the different types of each oil, their purposes and how to use them. Its called 'The Complete Guide to Essential Oils' by Gill Farrer-Halls.

I'm kind of a nut about staying away from meds for ailments or harsh chemicals for cleaning. It has been hard for me to accept taking antipsychotics, but there's no essential oil for that unless I missed something.

Oil of oregano is a lifesaver. Its a very strong anti viral and antibiotic. I also use a lot of tea tree oil for antibacterial purposes. They are cheap and easy to use.

I have read some on Oil of Oregano being used with people living with HIV/AIDS.
I put a drop or two of Tea Tree Oil on my toothbrush along with natural toothpaste. Sorry, My head is so spaced out today. Keep forgetting what I had wanted to share.
Sorry to bring this OT.

Congrat, Moose! A 5 lb loss is great! Remember that that is equal to a 5 lb bag of flour. There used to be 5 lb bags of sugar, but now many of those bags are 4 lbs. You know how the food industry works.

I finally got to sleep around 2:45 am last night (I had forgotten my evening meds until I remembered quite late). An Ativan helped as a "booster". I actually slept until around 10 am, which is not usual for me. Generally I get up around 6:45 am. In any case, I woke up feeling fine with no medication "hangover". I do still have sinus congestion.

HI! Another challenging day physically. Out of sorts overall. Likely due to med taper. Also very congested ; hopefully allergies instead of a cold. Nasty colds going around. I am likely going to rest for awhile; I am just too wiped out on all levels and too foggy cognitively. Not even sure I should be posting this here.
I hope everyone has an enlightening day!

I cheat sometimes but I am cutting out refined sugar and bad carbs. I eat granola and fruit every day. I try to get in long walks when I can.

I hear you! I am having the same issue.
Only you...you have been quite ill with asthma lately. It's very important that you do see your doctor. Glad you will see her/him very soon.
