I've been really struggling with anxiety and agitation. I can't focus on anything. I think I'm cycling into a mixed episode.

I might take an extra olanzapine. Maybe that will calm things down. I'm only supposed to take 2.5mg per day, but 5mg couldn't hurt, right? Maybe I should call the after hours resident or nurse and see what they think?

Personally I would do both; take the 5 mg, see how you respond. then contact your pdoc with that new information. The 'right' thing to do is always contact your pdoc before altering meds, but as I have found sometimes that just isn't possible in the time frame I need to keep my sanity.

Have you taken 5 mg Olanzapine at once before so you have an idea on how you will react? It is important to get on top of mixed sates ASAP. Are you safe?

You meant clozanepam right? Clozapine doesn't come in tablets that small to my kn5owledge.If it is clonazepam I think 5 mg is too much and messing with benzos is playing with fire. I don't know the top dose but 5 mg is higher than I've heard anyone take. Plus if you mess with benzos your pdoc may take them away in this era of monitor everything related to benzos as closely as possible.

Since you posted this last you probably did it already and I hope you are feeling ok.

Alternatively you can call the er and get information about it that's what I do when it comes to medication because I recently had an interaction with nicotine patches they made me hyper they still do but the trick is I don't wear them 24 hours a day now but I know this is not about an antipsychotic or an ssri but I'm just giving an example that contacting the will get you in contact with the right kind of people because personally from personal experience don't mess around with medication?!

My pdoc has told me I can taken an extra 2.5 of Olanzapine (Zyprexa). I don't think there would be a problem with an extra 5mg every once in a while, as long as you tell your pdoc. The only reason I have taken Zyrexa prn is because I think it will make me have to sleep all day. But if I really need it, I'd take it. Mixed states are miserable.
