Bipolar 1. I started out with bipolar NOS, and it took 2 1/2 years before I got the BP 1 label in the hospital. I thought that almost everybody got diagnosed BP 1 in the hospital and I didn't take it seriously, but since then three more mental healthcare providers have diagnosed me with it so I have to pay closer attention to it than I used to. I hate depression with every fiber of my being, but full-blown mania is NOT my friend no matter what it whispers to me in the still of the night, when my brain is like having all 250 TV channels on at the same time.

BPNurse I love the description of mania. I use Times Square as an example in mine but there's more to it and these stupid drugs won't let me remember it. Maybe later/

I have bipolar 1 officially. My paternal grandma has it and my dad might’ve had it but wasn’t diagnosed.

I've been told Avoidant personality disorder with Bi-polar-2. My last psy-guy however, changed the Bi-2 aspect to Cyclothemia. Depression of course, still comes standard with all packages. Any shade of blue ya want...as long as it's...y'know...BLUE.

I'm bipolar 11, but for insurance purposes and/or the bias of my psychiatrist, she has me down as bipolar 1. I've never had any signs of psychosis and my manic states are relatively mild.
