I understand you needing to take a break from your meds, hear you loud and clear. I just think you ought to extend your taper down to longer than 3 weeks for the lamictal. If I am remembering it correctly, the risk of having a seizure is there if you reduce it too fast. I think I would do some research about this.

Hi Christina, I had thought you'd been med free for years, my bad. Blame my meds, lol. I can so understand wanting to detox your body. After years and years of taking meds, who knows what is stored in our bodies, and what they actually need. A fresh start is an excellent place to start.
Please like everyone else has said, what's taken years to get used to, your body isn't going to get used to not having in days or weeks. There's no rush. If it takes a month or 6 months, getting to your goal and heading in that direction until then is your aim. Do it too quick it might be one step forward, two back. I'm glad you've got someone to give you feedback and support. I'd love to be med free. Because Id be the real me. I'm not sure who that is though. I know who I think it is, who id like it to be, but if it's not, then I'm not sure I'd be ok with that. You've only got one go at life. If your not happy, then take charge. No Pdoc or T lives in your body. I wish you all the best. I'm on 450mg. Numb for me is safe. |

Yes I was Med free for almost a year. I did forget that in my drug induced haze between psych and physical meds. __________________ Helping others gets me out of my own head ~ |

So update I am on Lamictal one every 4 days. Will do this for maybe another week. Then just stop. I stopped taking the Tenex also.
I’m feeling fine this far. My brain is functioning well sans Latuda. And no problems thus far cutting down my Lamictal. I have stopped my muscle relaxer. Wasn’t really sure it helped or not , I do notice a slight difference , but I will continue to decrease my meds , a few I am just stuck taking , asthma meds and Lyrica for my Fibromyalgia. I feel that I am taking control of my medications. My body needs a break. Last time I got my Med filled the pharmacist was going over them and she said that I’m poly pharmacy and there are certainly taking a toll on me. Of course she told me to talk to my Pdoc. But I’ve been dealing with this pharmacist for years and she said it would be wise to remove a few if possible. My mood has been fine /baseline . I got really agitated a few times over the last few days but there was a legit reason for it. Anywho that’s what’s going on for me right now. __________________ Helping others gets me out of my own head ~ |

Hiya
I’m doing really well ... I have stopped my psych meds and 3 meds for physical stuff. I have 2 more meds I really would like to stop but it’s for my Fibro and I’m not certain if the meds are actually helping or not, so I need to wean off of one and the other I can just quit outright. I just want my body to recover from a constant wash of harsh chemicals. Thanks for asking hun ! How are you feeeling ? __________________ Helping others gets me out of my own head ~ |
