I am a little hypomanic and I plan to use it to my advantage. I started yesterday by clearing out all the expired food in one cabinet in the kitchen, installing a new mailbox and started cleaning out the garage. Plus got the kids to clean out some of their toys. So I was kind of all over the place but at least some stuff got done. Today my back is hurting but I am determined to get an old couch out of the garage for trash day tomorrow. I just need to convince my wife to help.

It's amazing what we get accomplished hypomanic. If hypomania could be bottled and sold, the manufacturer would make a fortune. Mania, on the other hand, not so wonderful. Be careful not to progress.

Convinced the wife to do one hour of cleaning in the garage. It was an embarrassing mess. We threw out about 6 large trash bags and at least organized part of the rest. We have a sofa bed that needs to get out of there and a bunch of my in-laws stuff. But one step at a time I guess. Maybe I will tackle the pantry next.

At least you are getting things done! When I'm hypomanic I try to use the energy to do things around the house. Sometimes I try to do something creative like color, draw, write and even take pictures outside. If we can use our coping skills and some mindfulness, we can use our hypomania to our advantage.

My T says this is the best she has ever seen me because when I started seeing her I was in a deep depression. So finally 5 years later she gets to see a new side of me. I may still be a little hypomanic but I can live with that. As long as there isn’t a crash at the end.
