well, I did sleep some last night. not the deep, deep sleep I was anticipating but it's a start. I took the zolpidem at around 10:30 and was in bed at 11 pm after I showered and the meds kicked in right away. I noticed that I was dreaming plenty and my Spotify playlist was repeating. I got out of bed only once to use the bathroom. also, my wife noticed that I didn't kick in my sleep which I do when agitated and manic.

this morning, my mania is definitely waning. my mood is absolutely more stable and there is no anxiety to speak of. this will be my first full day on my new meds regimen. hope this combo helps me in the long run. I want to actually enjoy this summer with my family. we plan to take road trips and I want these mixed episodes and hypomania to be in the rear view. that's about it, just wanted to update this morning. hope everyone is well!

I'm so happy to hear you are feeling better. I am sure it is nice to be able to breathe a little easier after struggling and fighting against it like you did. I'm glad your pdoc was able to find a combo that is working for now and I hope it helps you in the long run like you're hoping. Your summer sounds like a good time and you deserve to enjoy it! Well wishes for a better day today.

thank you, fern46! my pdoc worked very hard to come up with the right combo for me. he took into consideration many things like A1C, weight gain, side effects and such. he is very old school, like I've mentioned, but he expects good results when he does med changes. if today is any indication, I'm getting better and feeling more on an even keel and my anxiety has subsided greatly. mood is good overall as well. also, my sleep can only get better.

thank you for the kind words and support, fern46! much appreciated

I think I still need an afternoon nap today. went to dunkin for an iced latte, but still feel a bit tired. think my head is not completely back to specs, but I do feel myself getting better little by little, don't wanna push it. I figure I should just listen to my body. if it's telling me I need a nap then I need a nap...

made dinner. some grilled chicken with broccoli stir fry. I was very surprised to have it done it. did take a brief nap for about an hour and a half. felt good. now I'm pretty level and my mood is quite stable. still feeling a bit neutral but overall ok. increase in geodon seems to be working. jus messing around online for now. just checking in.
