Why? That's so controlling. How do you feel about it? Do you think it will help?

If you think you can care for yourself, tell her to leave you alone. If you need a caretaker, you could consider it, if you absolutely trust her. I believe in you and your ability to decide.

Tell that to the court system. Express all rational feelings and desires. Stress your level of (dis)trust. You may need a lawyer and can get a free one with your level of income, provided you fill out the proper forms. Do your best to maintain call throughout. Losing it in front of those that decide would only prove her point. I'm sending you huge gentle hugs.

It may have been inappropriate for her to do this to you, but she may be responding to something she saw with you that has turned out to be real alarming to her. Maybe it is worth figuring this out. I think if you can understand her position better, this can allow you to better discuss this with her, and maybe come to some kind of understanding, and solution,

I am very sorry to read this. You had just started on what looked like a good stretch mental health wise. I hope you can continue that through this process. I would do research on your legal rights in your state.

I agree with Tucson, maybe this is a reaction to something you said/did or is assumed you did/said. Perhaps talking with her you can get to the bottom of where this is coming from and maybe resolve it without the legal system. I would feel so betrayed and hurt by those actions too. My independence means the world to me and to have someone try to take that away from me would make me rabid. I have a low tolerance for those who control others. So I really do get where you're coming from with that. I really hope it can be worked out. Keep us updated. I hope for the best!

Well we have talked all day and night and I’m still angry so I can only imagine the level of anger and betrayal your feeling.
You are completely able to care for yourself, pay your bills , manage money and hold down a job and when you are a mess you get help from Pdoc and T and if that’s not enough you know to go IP. You are seeing a Pdoc and T regularly. She has wrecked your relationship with her and it’s all on Her. I’d just refuse to speak with her when she comes around, I would literally look her dead in the face and walk out of the room if need be. ... funny she allows you to take care of her kids all the time , yet you can’t manage your life ??? I think that’s what would rattle my cage to no end. Be interesting how she explains her actions to a judge. I hope the Lawyer she has is charging a huge amount per hour ! Try somehow to remind yourself the definition of needing a guardianship in your state does not fit you at all. These things go by the law. You Pdoc and T can write letters declaring you able to take care of yourself. Breathe Love ya __________________ Helping others gets me out of my own head ~ |

I chose to let my hubby have guardianship for a whole lot of reasons.
BUT I instigated it. I’d have been furious if my hubby had. __________________ Pookyl ———————————————————————————— BP1, GAD, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Claustrophobia Psych meds: Saphris, Seroquel XR, regular Seroquel. PRN Diazepam and Zopiclone |

I can’t imagine how you must be feeling. She sounds like she’s so controlling. Do you think you’ll have any say at the pretrial?

Can you get someone else appointed at your guardian of your choosing or even the state?

I hope you don't live with her already. That could complicate things.
