Yay on the clear scan! I am sorry you had to wait so long for the results. It had to be agonizing

Thank you Blueberrybook, I appreciate your kind wishes. It was agonizing. Somehow I slept well enough but I will sleep better tonight.

Fantastic!!!! It’s terrible you had to wait so long. Now you can get back to your life without having to hurry up and wait for such life changing results.

I’m so very happy for you

You put it so well, Christina. Thank you for your good wishes!

I had to take an Olanzapine 2.5 mg to get to sleep last night. I only take it prn because it makes me pre-diabetic, like it does so many other people. My blood sugar normalized in the past once I stopped taking it every day.

Anyway the doc I saw yesterday to get my scan results crossed off the fasting glucose test on the req I have been holding on to for half a year because I didn't want to drive in the morning to a blood test with no coffee in my system. It had the A1C test on it.

Anyway I am mostly wondering if Rexulti is messing up my metabolic panel since i feel poorly and quite tired. I had some not so great cholesterol readings in the past and am wondering how that is doing too. I have developed a more significant tremor particularly in my left hand so will have to do something one way or the other about that soon. I am thinking to try to get down on Rexulti to 0.5 mg and see if that improves my symptoms.

My son will be showing up this morning for practise driving and then his driving test using my car. He is 25 and has a Georgia drivers license but not a great driver due to his adhd. I have been frightened several times being a passenger in the car with him. We practised driving yesterday. It would have been excruciating to do that not knowing my scan results, so i was blessed to get them before hand.

Anyway the driving tests are much harder up here to pass, and they fail a lot more people. He either passes or doesn't. He took a couple drivers lessons and that has helped him learn to drive on the road system up here.

Sorry to hear that. I failed my driving test the first time I took it, because I couldn't parallel park.

Yay! Good news! I’m glad to hear the results are good. Maybe the delay was a good sign? Bad news tends to come back really quickly when it comes to health care versus better news comes later? I don’t know but I’m glad you are all clear. Contemplating my mortality from lung cancer

Yes I had the experience yesterday of driving practise in my car for his driving test today and he couldn't parallel park, he was doing it all wrong, and so we gave up on that and just drove around in the neighborhoods he would be tested in.

Then he practised in his girlfriend's car last night and texted me at midnight that he had forgotten how his instructor had taught him and had gotten it all wrong when he tried with me but he got it down pat so he was able to parallel park my car today during his test, which in retrospect is kind of amazing.

My son has adhd and this affects his driving in a pretty serious way. I gave up practise driving with him after some very scary merges on the highway system here and almost running a red light.

We had a mixup getting to the test starting point. When i dropped my son at the registry we didn't realize he needed to show insurance and registration to go on the driving test. I had completely forgotten about all that and he didn't know either this was something he needed to do.

Then he calls me when I am starbucks nearby so I run back without getting the coffee I had paid for, and my heart is pounding when I get back and i am panicking

And think all the insurance cards I had in the car and my wallet had expired. I was reading the date wrong, the year comes first instead of last on those cards, (they were all 4/19 and I though the 19 was last year so they had expired but one of them was expiring 2020/4/19... (who puts the year first? anywhere else??)

so I drove home to get another card and then when I got home realized i had read them wrong so he was already flustered before he started the test and he failed in within 10 seconds of driving because he went into an uncontrolled intersection in the parking lot and someone from his left honked at him. So if you have someone honk at you that is an instant fail.

Then he realized he had instantly failed and that affected the rest of his driving and he also just barely failed on points.

Then I drove him home. We didn't stop for lunch but had a nice chat and his girlfriend is going to help him out with practise driving. He scheduled the next available opening at that registry which is July 22, quite a ways from today.

Hi Sisabel and BipolaRNurse,

Thank you so much for your good wishes. The past week has been tough and today also was no piece of cake, but it would have been so much harder if my scan result had turned out otherwise and I would have that weighing heavily on my mind along with all of the commotion of my son's driving test.

I am grateful for the support of both of you and all the other people who have commented in this thread. I feel like I am still living with the aftershocks of the last week. Today also was pretty tense and intense too.

tomorrow I see my friend and we will add a walk by the river to our day. It should be quite nice and help me unwind from the stresses.

I was at the hospital Saturday morning for my scan, at the dentist Monday for a cleaning and checkup which I hate, back to the cancer centre on Tuesday and didn't get the result (lovely), waited patiently by my phone on Wednesday and Thursday for an oncologist who never called (this was getting difficult), called the cancer centre on Friday to find out the report was done (yay) and and into my gp the same day to get the report, then I went for a blood test and then practise driving and had dinner last night with my son and we had some tense exchanges before finally giving up on his parallel parking...

Writing here has been an outlet for me and I really appreciate your warm words of support.

Yes it's a huge relief AspiringAuthor. I slept almost 9 hours last night and am on the road to recovery from what is for me the trauma of waiting to get my scan results,

showing up for my appointment and being told it was not ready, then my onc promised to call me and never did.

It's like pulling teeth every time so I am glad my next encounter with the cancer center is being scheduled for a year from now. It's a June/July rite of passage. Both my onc and I agree to never stop these yearly scans and I am grateful for that.
