Heya! So tonight's hard, this whole week has been hard. I can't tell if this is depression or mixed, all I know is it feels like my brain is on fire, and I'm really, really struggling. Last night I got about an hour's time of peace, where I felt okay and just exhausted, but today the Brain Fire is back. The 2 days before yesterday I spiraled and got into some stupid stuff... but today I'm back to being in control, just reallllyyyy feeling terrible.
Any recommendations? I'm already in pajamas, I have music, I'm going to journal, I've eaten and slept recently, I'm taking my meds.... I'm dealing with bipolar 1 here but luckily this round is relatively mild. Even if you don't have any recs I'd love some distraction, so my alternate question is: What's your fav animal and why? |

Hot showers help me concentrate on the feeling of the water. writing helps, sometimes coloring helps.
Fav animal is my dog. She helps me so much. __________________ Dx: Me- SzA Husband- Bipolar 1 Daughter- mood disorder+ Comfortable broken and happy "So I don't know why I'm tongue tied At the wrong time when I need this."- P!nk My blog |

It sounds like you did a lot of positive things. How did they work out? What issues persisted, despite?
I love all animals, but I have been especially fond of birds and cats in my life. I don't put them together, though. |

Do you have Netflix? I find that to be a good distraction. Or YouTube videos, all kinds of fun stuff to watch depending on your interests. Not sure if you play any games but I love videogames and they are very helpful to distract me and some are even relaxing. I also enjoy reading, nothing better than getting into a good book.
Drawing, coloring, any kinds of arts and crafts are helpful. Then there's sites like pinterest, I can spend hours on there if I'm not careful lol Maybe having a cup of tea or cocoa, that can be pretty relaxing. My favorite animals are cats, I have two and they are my babies, they are so sweet and fun. I like pretty much all animals but I'm definitely a cat person first and foremost. __________________ R.I.P mom 8/6/55-1/15/16 “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.” -St. Francis of Assisi

I am right where you are. What I'm doing about it is getting out of bed and eating an ice cream, and playing solitaire while listening to the radio. My dogs are confused, because I should have been asleep three hours ago.
My favorite pet of all time was my Siamese, Musetta. She picked me by knocking another kitty out of my lap and following me around talking to me. My favorite pet of the moment is my dog (Dachshund) Sofie, who bosses me around all of the time! |

I hope you start feeling better soon. I love most animals but find myself admiring elephants lately. Weird right? Some of the stories I’ve read and things I’ve seen about them recently gave me a new perspective on them.

Hey, thanks all. I ended up in an IOP, which I think is helping. Thank you all for the recommendations! I'm doing a bit better, I think I might be swinging back into depression which sucks but it's slightly less chaotic at least. I hope everyone's well.
