Does anyone work and have trouble thinking straight? I’m making plenty of mistakes on my job. I work for lawyers serving low income seniors. I used to like work but now I dread it. I’m expected to know more lawyer things and last week I wanted to run out of there crying because I made more mistakes. Plus the mistakes were ones for the director and she found them twice when I wasn’t there. My doctor took me off of Gabapentin thinking it would help with my thinking. Maybe it did, but not enough. Now I have to wait to see my primary doc next month for something for the Fibro. I have disabilities but have to work part time to get Medicaid. I have bipolar 2, anxiety...
thank you....

For me, I struggle with my current position. I am trying to train for a different career that may better suit my current state. That probably is not what you want to hear or may not even be an option but it is possible this position is no longer suitable for you. I don’t know if this is an option but if you are making errors is it possible to work on a task in the morning, distance yourself from it and review it one more time before submitting it?

Hi Cookie22. I work full time, when I can. I am open about my condition and people are more understanding if I make mistakes. I work in sales and I also have to go and see clients. I am really forgetful and sometimes I just have this fear of going out of my office and making any phone calls, I know it is weird but it happens! My wife calls it my cocoon that I live in. I make lists of all the things I have done, conversations I had and things I still have to do and that helps with the extreme forgetfulness, I also talk about my fears and get some constructive criticism.

Are the Director and the lawyers aware of your struggles, Cookie22? Surely they'll be able to forgive your mistakes! You ARE trying your best and that's ALL we humans can do and it's ALWAYS more than enough! Don't beat yourself up! Mistakes can happen and that's revisions are for after all! Just try to avoid doing some of the major mistakes and try not to focus too much on the smaller ones! I hope they're aware of your condition and that they're not treating yourself badly! If that's the case, perhaps it's the work environment that needs to change? Just some thoughts! Definitely talk to your Pdoc about ALL of this and see how it goes from there! Hopefully he'll be able to help you and to take off the Meds that are "clouding" your thinking! Please remember that it is NOT your fault and you can ONLY do your best which is what you're already doing! Just try to be careful but other than that you really have nothing to blame yourself for! Please NEVER give up hope! I'm sure things will get better soon for you one way or another! Let us know how things are going for you and when they start to get better for you! We all DO care about you! THAT'S A PROMISE! Wish you the BEST of luck in BOTH your healing and your life! Sending many safe, warm hugs to BOTH you and your family, Cookie22!

Thank you for your replies. It helps to know I’m not alone. No I haven’t told anyone at work about my conditions. I’m afraid of what they might do plus being let go. I’ve tried various note taking and creating my own forms to fill out, but when clients come in, there isn’t any time for that. So I’m still looking for ways to improve my processes to help with my cloudy brain. I see my podcast next month and saw him last week as a walk in.
