In the book "Haldol and Hyacinths A Bipolar Life" by Melody Moezzi, this quote struck me as appropriate to us...

No doubt mucj of our empathy comes from a shared respect for suffering. But theres more to it than that. We share mutations. Most doctors agree that mental illness is the result of a combination of our genes and experiences. Some of us are born with a predisposition toward it, and for us, certain emotional and/or physical traumas trigger our minds to revolt in the most pesky and peculiar ways. As such, we often dot fit into the same spaces as "normal" people. Our hearts, heads, aand helixrs wont allow it. Herin lies our bondand our unique ability to rescue each other when others can't.
