I hope everyone is able to enjoy themselves a little bit. Every year I have to spend about 4 days with my in-laws in the middle of no where. Always need extra Xanax those days. The first few years were very stressful being a lesbian couple in the country and not fully accepted yet by the extended family. But now 19 years later and two kids things aren’t too bad. I guess more boring than anything else and no internet so the boys don’t like it. As my T says I just have to make the best of it because I have no choice I am stuck here.

Have a good one everyone.

Its just another day to me. Doing nothing special and avoiding the outdoors cause it's hot and humid

At my mom's for a picnic. N3 was here but I had to take him to work. Been chillaxin and reading. Tried to nap away a headache with Tylenol- I didn't actually sleep but the migraine went away any how.

My husband and I are away from the usual in a small town in a lovely part of eastern NY state. We had a lovely day! On our way here (in NJ just below the NY border) my husband asked the gas station attendant about a lunch place near there, and would you believe suddenly Steve Carell, the actor/comedian, who was also getting gas, answered our question?!?!

The little town we're staying in is lovely as is the Airbnb apartment were renting. We'll be mostly driving across to western Massachusetts most days, hiking, swimming in nature swim holes, visiting a museum or two, and attending two concerts at the Tanglewood music festival.

It's only a little after 8 pm and my husband is already sleeping, though not "officially" (he's in day clothes). No need for fireworks for us.

I really love the part of the US that I live in, and in which I grew up. It is where much of the Revolutionary War was fought. It's possible that hubby and I may move abroad someday, but I will always be an American, from the region I've been all day today.

Well, if him being friendly to us and telling us that there were some open eateries down the road is "meeting him", then yes. We met him. We didn't introduce ourselves or even let on that we knew who he was, though. We didn't think that was appropriate. We thanked him and found a Starbucks.

It's not that uncommon for us to see or run into well-known people in our parts. It did seem a little strange at that spot we got gas. We looked Steve Carell up and saw that he summers in Massachusetts. The somewhat rural route we drove today is certainly one he might take to his summer home, coming from NJ or NYC. The main alternative can be an unpleasant traffic-ridden nightmare. I could understand him not wanting to commute by air from NJ/NYC to MA.

Happy 4th everyone! My husband was cleaning up our car and truck. I honestly don’t know how he can function in this terrible heat. I just can not do it.

Couple good downpours so I didn’t need to water all my plants tonight.

I just made a pizza for dinner and watched Fireworks on TV
