My therapist is reporting my pdoc's assistant for wrongly accusing me of being anxious and telling me to take Benadryl, without consulting my pdoc. (I haven't been sleeping well at all, and the assistant lady said that my racing thoughts, pacing around, restlessness, distractibility, etc. were all "anxiety" and that Benadryl was the solution.)

Therapist said I was very manic and that that lady had no right to give medical advice or "diagnoses" over the phone.

Sounds like some dumb b**** is out of a job.

It's very unfortunate this happened to you, especially when you needed them most!

I feel strongly that this person put you at risk. I feel that is very irresponsible. From what you have told us, it appears this person was practicing medicine without the necessary credentials. I hope your pdoc takes this very seriously, fully realizing this situation with his "assistant" puts his patients at risk. If he does not do something to fully address this situation, he could find himself named in one or more lawsuits. However, that is not the worst that might occur. Someone could be very hurt and/or could lose his/her life. Thanks for standing up and disclosing what has happened to you. You may have saved someone else's life. Good job!
