I don't have the back story, and I guess eventually I'll stumble on it. No matter. I'm grateful to Ms. Santos, Yale, Coursera, all of them for having this course available at no charge. I'm not so sure I would have paid as I prefer face-to-face and there's just so much good stuff that's gifted into the internet.
I've been delighted with the course. Santos kept circling back to "miswanting" things like great grades, high salaries, material stuff as missing the point. After a certain level of income, one most of the patient students listening to her would easily reach with their Yale degree in their pockets, more doesn't lead to happier. What does? Meditation, exercise, sleep, savoring experiences, gratitude, setting up your environment to support your happiness. A couple more in the mix. When I needed a month's project on the good stuff, I picked gratitude. I just went back and finished the course. Well designed, thought-thru site, not many issues on my side (though other learners reported several doggedly frustrating ones). My pre- and post- scores showed a decrease in wellbeing. I have a long life ahead, anyway and will earn back more happiness. R __________________ |

I am grateful for my home. It is a sunny and breezy morning and the birds are singing. I have all that I need and I feel blessed.

I am grateful for my home also. It's past mid day and I can't hear the birds singing right now, but I often hear them and I welcome hearing them all (even the less traditionally harmonious sounds.... I love the sound of sea gulls. And I am not currently by the sea side I have all I need. I'm grateful also for all the loving people and beings in this world.

I'm grateful my body did what it needed to do in order to protect me during hard times. Those behaviors are no longer serving me and I hope I can "update my files" in the near future.

Today, while drinking a cold glass of water, I had such gratitude that I live in such an amazing country where I can turn on the tap and have clean water to drink

I’m grateful my anxiety isn’t that bad today. It could be a lot worse.

I'm grateful to my wife, who through a previous marriage made me a father. I'm lucky.
I'm grateful that my changing cycle is teaching me that I'm alive and that I have a lot to learn. I'm grateful that I'm lucky enough to have options to make myself and others safe from me when my symptoms are at their worst. I'm grateful for a daughter who wants to make me poached eggs and corned beef hash on Father's Day. |

I am grateful for the garden we have growing. My oldest child has really taken an interest in it and I love connecting with the earth every day.

I am also grateful for the various positive updates people have posted lately. I know there are many struggling and suffering. I connect with and have empathy for that pain. We are where we are and wherever we are is ok....but it is wonderful to hear about the good times as well. It helps to remind us that they do return eventually.

I am grateful for the deer sleeping on my lawn this morning. Art exists in life.
She reminded me of that. __________________ What's so funny about peace, love and understanding? Elvis Costello |

I'm grateful for the easy weather today, cool and breezy. And for my delightful dog and getting to share my days with such a lovely furry companion. And for Scrabble to challenge me tho i wish it wasn't so often humbling.
