I have a question: how much about yourself do you share here?

I'll post the poll, then my answer

many people know my name, and my location (not city/ town, but they know I'm in england)

might give my email address out in a private message if that person wants to check on me when I'm not on the forum

I'm not an open book though. I have my limits to what I'll answer to

I'm not a total open book, but it was the closest option. I don't mind sharing usually, especially if I feel it will help in some way.

I'm a lot like you in that regard. I will share my age and location (state only) and gender -- 28, male, KY. However that is about it. I'm definitely not an open book -- even with a forum like this where I am hiding behind the veil of a generic avatar and username, I don't share everything. I'd probably be a little leery even giving out an email address, but that's just because I am ashamed of a lot of who I am and if I have divulged something here that I regret letting be known, I don't want it tracked back to me. However I am open to perhaps trusting someone enough to share more.

I can’t see a poll since I use Tapatalk for PC but I’ll answer best I can

I pretty open about myself. I live south of Nashville, I use my real first name.I have referred to my Husband, Daughter and T by name.

Of course there are some things I have gone through and well ... mentally and physically survived that I really don’t say much about, some is too personal and some could be very triggering for someone.

I have numerous people I have met over the years here that I keep in touch with away from PC, I even brought one into my home, ultimately that turned into a nightmare.

I have numerous people on Facebook or WhatsApp that I first met here on PC

I’m very blessed with finding great friends here.

I had someone find out where I’m from and found my Facebook
Profile and that scared me so...not much.

that happened to me on another site.

I posted one of my poems, and then someone didn't believe it was originally mine, so googled it and found the copyrighted version in my journal.

I don't really use that journal anymore, though it's up their still as it's the only place I store my old poetry

and I certainly don't use that forum now. I'm ashamed

I like the username you've chosen

it reminds me of a comedy show over here set in ancient roam, and one of the main characters is called marcus. you know I'm pretty sure his last name is like yours too

and now it's going to bug me. because I can see him with the others laughing and joking around

As much as I safely can. I've been here for years most know my name , city/state, son's name, husband 's name, age, almost everything. I try to be as open as I can about my symptom, and my life especially the severity because someone who is lurking needs to know they're not alone.

I share most things, but I only share my first name and town I live in with very select people. Of course there are some things I wouldn't share. Everyone has those.

I'm pretty much an open book. You know, within reason...I'm not going to share kinky stuff. Not that I'm into kinky stuff. But regular, everyday info, yeah, I'll share it. I'm especially proud of sharing about my psychopathic pdoc, Dr. W.

As little as possible usually, apart from my species

I'll share my gender, which is obvious anyway.

If I think it might help someone in need, I am more willing to share more. I am fairly out there with my illness. It's no secret. Which is fine with me. I am not ashamed of what I have been through.

I'm pretty open about sharing what my life is like with bipolar disorder. But I'm chintzy with details about my name and address, phone number, and e-mail. I'm a little paranoid, I know, but I've had a stalker before and he knew where I lived and worked, called me in the middle of the night to tell me what he wanted to do to me, and generally scared the daylights out of me. Not that anyone here would do that, of course, but I'm just really tight-lipped about my personal details. It's enough that y'all know my age and the course of my illness. And of course, if you're really curious, you can visit me on my blog.

I’ve shared my gender, age and location (country only).
I’m an open book about my experiences with bipolar but keep everything else private almost always.

My state, my age, and some personal situational details. Also I have mentioned that I have a daughter, a young adult. She has caused me allot of consternation in the past. This has been much better ever since she began living on her own.
