does anyone feel that you just waste your time over some things.
I was thinking about this today re: christmas. I have a tree I have decorations I have my alexa playing christmas music but for what? christmas day I'm going to be sat here alone, probably eating too much food, opening gifts that I got myself (which judging by my financial state, won't be anything this year) does anyone feel like this?. not just about christmas, for anything maybe about treatment: you think you're making progress and then you slip down again |

I think some people just go through the motions with things, but the questions are "Do you like Christmas and do you wish Christmas was fun? Or wouldn't you really care?" If you do care, then I would think the motions are worth it. If you don't, not as much.
My husband is like a little boy and loves every holiday and his birthday very much. I, on the other hand, would be just as happy to let the holidays and my birthday pass by. For years, I have wished we could forgo having a tree. I suppose I do like the wreath on the door, and I kind of enjoy holiday flower arrangements, but that's it as far as decorations. Maybe a nice meal? But presents? A hassle, but I know they're just my feelings. The above doesn't mean that I don't enjoy special days. I try to make every day possible special and joyous. Obviously not all are, but many can be. I don't need a date on the calendar to dictate that. Also, I love the idea of love and forgiveness. I don't need a holiday to remind me of that. |

I do all the time. This Christmas I have almost totally given up. No tree, decorations, or music. Just presents for my nieces and nephews.

I will be alone this year, too. But I am going to try to make it positive and special anyway.

I wish holiday celebrations felt more like an option than an obligation. I wanted to just skip all holidays altogether this year. Honestly I could just do without holidays completely.

Other than my daughter, I have wasted the last twenty years of my life.
