No I don't take fish oil anymore. I used to but didn't get any benefit from it. I forgot what type and how much but I was on it for a long time.

I did much better on my diet today. Had a deficite in calories. Other values were good- except this program gives coconut oil a "D". Most other things were an A though.

I am in less pain today.

the heatwave we have been having is slowly weakening

and that's great news for my pain: my pain and heat don't mix

I just ope that the heatwave continues to weaken. the more heat, them ore pain

So diet isn't likely a cause, but it might be a contributor. The Mediterranean diet has been shown to have success with depression. I imagine you could easily do it as a vegetarian. It might be worth exploring. Also, I agree about the fish oil.

I wish the exercise would give you a little boost. Hopefully you'll get there in time. I'll be pulling for you.

I hit my first weight loss goal!!! Ten pounds down, 75 more to go! I’m beginning to think I can actually do this! This is the first time in years I’ve consistently stuck to a “diet” (which is really just eating less food overall). I’m so proud of myself!!!

Last night was the first day I really went way over my daily calorie allowance, after three and half weeks of not. I just had such a surge of stress that it was hard to control. I'm back on track, for the most part, but confess I did order a single serving sweet spot in the grocery delivery order due to arrive tonight.

Was really hoping to run today, but supposed to be 102 and I slept in. Sleep is so big for me. Maybe early tomorrow.

I need to stop eating ****. Apparently my favorite chips now make me sick. I had some yesterday and felt like crap afterward. Then I had some today (not even a lot, maybe an ounce) and felt like crap again. THEN I had an ice cream sundae and I feel sick again. Let this be a lesson to me. Even though I was still within my calories yesterday and today, the actual food doesn’t sit well with me.

I figured out a year ago that fast food fries make me sick. I only eat crinkle fries in the air fryer now. Totally fine. McDonald’s fries? Blech.

I guess it’s just as well. Better to change my diet.

Today I had a follow-up with my surgeon (for achilles surgery). The healing is coming along as expected, but it's a slow process. Still quite a bit of swelling around the surgical site and soreness there, too. But I'm doing short walks every day and the terrible pain is gone!

I have lost 4 pounds this week just by keeping track of what I eat- calories, fat, carbs etc. I need to walk though!!

Moose, congrats on the nice weight loss. Tracking my eating is pretty much the only way I can consistently lose, too. It's important. I once read that it is even more important than the exercise part of it, unless you run marathons, or the like.

ragingvortex, I hope your pain remains minimal. Can you do some exercise in your house/apartment? Maybe dance to some music?

I've felt well, physically. I'm sticking to my diet. I hope when I weigh myself on Friday there is a good loss. Last Friday I had a very minor gain, for no apparent reason. I know that sometimes that will happen and then the week after will more than make up for it. I'm crossing my fingers.

raging vortex, I hope your pain eases again. Didn't you write about a day of somewhat reprieve yesterday or the day before?

Bpcyclist, 25 miles! Maybe someday if I am living in France, I will see you pass by in a Tour de France peloton.

Well, I am happy with my week's weight loss. Down 2.8 lbs. Last week I was up 0.6 lbs, but that was likely not indicative of my fat loss. I knew this week would show it. Since 4 1/2 weeks ago, I have lost a total of 8.4 lbs (3.8 kg). I am aiming to reach 10 lbs or more before my vacation. Hopefully more since I am sure I will eat some diet unfriendly stuff there. Sorry, but a pastry is a must! Bpcyclist, did you ever make those croissants?

I have some blood tests next week that include comprehensive metabolic ones. I sort of doubt I have normalized all past out of range results, yet, but believe they will be improved.

I have an appointment with my nephrologist on September 1st. I was surprised to learn it will be a video appointment. That's strange considering what health care professionals are seeing patients face-to-face. Usually his nurse takes my vitals and asks about medication changes. Then the doctor checks my ankles and heart, which are always fine, then goes over my blood test results. Obviously they want to officially meet, even via video, because of money, but it doesn't seem necessary considering what they won't be able to do.
