Gained a pound this past week. Must be water weight. I have consistently lost about a pound a week since June 26, when I started tracking calories diligently. I went over last week by more than I have in the past, but still only by around 1500 calories for the week. Most days I am under or just slightly over. My problem is I usually have to eat right before bed because I’m so hungry. Or I lay in bed for an hour and get so tired of laying there I just get up and have a snack just to do something. But in total I have lost 14 pounds. I haven’t really seen it yet but I’ve noticed my men’s large tee shirts fitting a bit looser. And today put on some khakis for work that I haven’t worn since March and they definitely fit better. I could button them without a struggle! So it is working.
If I make it to 21 pounds lost, I will have hit two milestones. First, the only time ever in my life that I’ve lost more than 20lb trying to. And, I will be under 200lb for the first time since November of 2017! So hopefully by November I will make it there. It’s so hard to think ahead and realize how long it’s going to take me to lose the weight I need to, but I’m losing at the rate That’s recommended for sustainable weight loss. __________________ Of course it is happening inside your head. HALLIEBETH, I hope you and your granny recover from covid quickly. I am sorry to read you got it.
Fern, I agree that sometimes we must look at the scale. It's good you got one. I will be wondering what mine will say when I get on it next. Raging vortex, I am glad you're full. Being hungry is painful sometimes. Do you ever like to eat healthier stuff or does that turn you off or not satisfy you? Bpcyclist, I saw a map of the fires yesterday. Horrible! I'm sorry you and many others are dealing with that. |

I'm going to use Friday as my weigh in day. I'm looking forward to it. You can hopefully give yourself a bit of a pass at the next weigh in. If I was where you are I'd be eating all of the pastries Enjoy! |

My student had a rough day today so I was trying to encourage him to participate in gym class by doing the workout video. I went down for a squat and couldn’t get back up!!! I have never been one for exercise. I think I am afraid to try because I think I won’t be able to do it. But this is my motivation! I want to be able to do a damn squat without falling over!
I found some workout videos on YouTube for obese beginners. I can get YouTube on my tv through my cable provider so I’m going to buckle down and give it a go. I’m also walking at least 5000 steps a day just by going to work, so that’s good! Hoping to get some strength in my jelly legs __________________ Of course it is happening inside your head. Guess I underestimated how hazardous it is to be outside here. Our air quality index is approaching Mt. St. Helens eruption levels (I am maybe 33 miles from the mountain by air). We are basically not allowed to go outside for at least the next three days. So bad.
Fern, I am breaking out the trainer... Good call. I was not smart to run today. The black blur on the right is you-know-who... __________________ When I was a kid, my parents moved a lot, but I always found them--Rodney Dangerfield |

So, I’ve finally had enough of being fat. I had a consultation with a Bariatric surgeon about a month ago and am having surgery (gastric sleeve) in two weeks. I’m so looking forward to one day being a healthy weight again. Onwards and upwards I hope.

I need to lose 50-60 lbs that I've put on over the last 3 years. Pdoc is all over my case about it - but I'm on two antipsychotics that I don't think are helping my weight. I started a new job that involves a lot of walking so I'm hopeful.

I must have dropped the water weight, thankfully. Back down to the weight I was two weeks ago. I only ended up going over my total weekly calorie allowance by 125 calories last week! Usually it’s around 1000. I’m just not as hungry anymore, plus I’m working and can only eat at certain times.
Haven’t been able to find motivation to work out but I’m at least moving around more simply being at work, so that’s good. __________________ Of course it is happening inside your head. Pookyl, all the best with your upcoming surgery. My sister had one and she has kept a lot of the weight off that she lost afterwards. Sometimes she has to get back on track again, though. It's been at least five years since she had the surgery.
Unbelievably, my eating hasn't been that bad during my vacation so far. I think. We'll see. In any case, I have been doing a ton of walking. It's been hot where I am. About 30 C, which is about 86 F. I'm used to such temps during the summers where I live, but not in September. But where I am now, temps don't get nearly as cold in the winters. |

I really can't cope with hot temps. you're welcome to them. they make everything seem so sticky and dry and they make you feel even more vunnerable than you are all ready but this is only my opinion. obviously they work for some people |

another day, the same state
lots of pain and uglyness I have been trying to eat pretty well (trying), my problem is that that when I eat my main meal it is no where near filling so have to resort to snacks. and when I do that, 1 turns in to like 102 I think what I need to start doing re: my main meals, is trying to come up with a menu that actually fills me up (or get a chef). another issue is I can't stand my cooking. I'd rather eat the carpet |

I've been feeling pretty good physically. My workouts have been difficult because I was slightly out of shape, but I am getting them in almost every day and sticking with it. I always feel better after doing that for myself.
My eating has been on target most days as well. I ate a bunch of junk on Sunday to celebrate the return of football, but other than that I've done well. But... The scale has not moved. It hasn't gone up though, so that's great. I do feel more toned, so I need to check my tighter pants to see how they fit now. That's the real test. At any rate, I'm happy with just feeling better. I recognized that my regular workouts became more intermittent just before my episode this summer. I had also stopped tracking my food and I was eating more junk than usual. I wonder if my no longer focusing as much on physical health at that time was a sign things were going downhill. Its definitely something to keep an eye on in the future. Physical health was important to me and then I stopped caring as much as I became hyperfocused on other things. Balance was lost. I thought it was just a normal shift and I justified it. Now I think I need to push myself a little harder to get back on track when my patterns change. How is everyone else feeling? This has been a weird year, but one thing we can all do is take ownership of what we eat and whether or not we move our bodies regularly. There is so much opportunity and I've only scratched the surface, but I look at any small thing I do for my health as a big win. Hugs to all and especially gentle and big hugs to those in pain. |
