you all people are so nice and I needed support.
Unfortunately I have to do another monday wednesday and friday next week for the IOP. 9-12, I can handle that. I don't like getting no for an answer, I also am not getting to have lauren the PA as my provider so will go to a new pdoc Dr. Conception, I saw him in the hospital.We will see how it goes. I hope he takes my insurance. We have met our deductible.

96 days alcohol free.
experiment went to fat pats and drank 2 different kind of beers that I used to like jucifer and envie. did not like them also tried jeffs IPA dog fish head 90 minute IPA and thought it tasted horrible.
so far so good I like my non-alcoholic beer: heinekin 0.0% better that 3 other beers that I used to drink.
went to the tap room for dinner of a fancy hot dog.
and tried their parish sips beer it is a sour beer.. that I really like so this was a cheat day and experiment so no more fat pats. and I like my 0.0 beer best.
end of experiment.
We will be traveling to INDIANA the end of june, I will finally get to see my great niece emerson. so excited I was going to see her then in may but canceled our trip due to the corona virus. now will have to wait untill july 3rd. yeah!!!!!!
Jeffs mom passed away and we had to put jeffs cat down from cancer we had been doing dressing changes on her from the cancer. it was an awful time for us both. we have a new cat 10 month old who climbs us and I bleed on my scrubs and now we are going to get a 10week old kitten to play with harper. the 10 month old. our original cat who is 12 years old is not getting along with the 10 month old. we took her to the vet syesterday because we knew there was something wrong. she was constipated. they cleaned her out with lactulose. which we are supposed to give to her but she is hiding under the bed somewhere.

I have bad news. Today I went to the walk in clinic for my pink eye and nose irritation. then my aunt said something about eye infections can be due to the corona virus So I went back to be tested. it came back positive from the needle prick on my finger it showed a recent exposure or a positive now. the test can read false positives. So then they did a nasal swab which hurt in both side of nose to be sent off, I won't have the results until this wed or thursday. So I am having to impose self quarantine. until I hear back from them. so I had to cancel all of my next weeks clients using the pink eye as an excuse as to why I had to cancel. some understanding others impatient because I could not give them an alternative date. sigh How am I ever going to get caught up. If it comes back positive then I think I would have to be on isolation....don't know for sure. I have no resp symptoms so that is good. I am not sick except for the pink eye that my aunt is the one suggesting that I get tested. I just saw 6 clients 80-90 year olds yesterday. I am supposed to wear a mask at home jeff thinks it is a false positive, many of those are false positive. he took the test and he was negative. I will cancel the weeks IOP.

Jeff has been coughing and his chest hurts, my husband is starting to wheeze.

He picked up this inhaler primatine mist from cvs. and took 2 good puffs.

He always sneezes a lot. So he has more symptoms than I do

but his test came out negative when He took the blood test after me.

If there are false positive than what about false negatives?

Yes, there are many reports on false negatives. As I understand this (I am not a health professional): Initially the false negative rate was thought to be 15%. Later on, the false negative rate is considered to be 50%.

It's likely you should both get re-tested. Please consult with your doctor.

Personally, I'd consult my doctor for a better inhaler option for Jeff.

You may want to obtain (or arrange for) any items you may need in your home should you both become very ill.

As with any respiratory virus, Vit C and zinc are important.

Zinc: Use some caution. It is thought that zinc inhibits viral replication in the pharynx/pharyngeal region. Low dose zinc is often found in cough drops/throat lozenges/syrup. Zinc in a drop/lozenge/syrup is best because it bathes the oral cavity /pharynx with zinc. This is not a case of a high dose of zinc will be more helpful. The daily upper limit on zinc, for an adult, is 40 mg. and one can easily reach this daily limit if using drops/lozenges/syrups containing zinc. Generally, items containing zinc will inform you of how many mg of zinc per unit. (for example: One cough drop might contain 2 mg. zinc.)

Zinc can be toxic, can have interactions and daily upper limits vary by age. Please refer to this link for info on zinc:

(Some utilize homeopathic doses of zinc. I have never seen any science on this; however, there might be scientific info available.)

There is some anecdotal/controversial info re: Vit D in coronavirus. This refers to the Vitamin D level determined by a blood test. If this is helpful, it would be most effective if a recommended level of Vit D is reached prior to exposure to the virus. If you have a low Vit D level, please be careful about taking any high doses of Vit D. Vit D is NOT water soluble and can be toxic. Carefully research and/or consult your doctor/pharmacist.

NONE of these nutrients will cure the virus. They may or may not inhibit viral replication and may or may not assist in minimizing the effects of cytokine storms. There is plenty of info on each of these nutrients on the web.

As WC wisely points out, these current tests are not especially good. A negative result does not rule out the illness. So, re-testing may be required. Sometimes, multiple times.

I do not know this sick person, obviously, or you very well at all, but please, remember, both flu and COVID-19 can progress extremely rapidly. As can other forms of viral and bacterial pneumonia. So, please pay close attention to how he is getting along. Any question, and ask for help is my counsel.

I had a bacterial pneumonia as a perfectly healthy second-year dermatology reident. My wife, an RN, was out of town, so I was alone. Somehow, my dad showed up at my door. I had apparently called he and mom and was not making much sense. When they got me to the ED, my O2 sats were 84% on room air. Not good. I was hypoxic. One of the first things you learn in general surgery school no matter where it is, is that hypoxic inpatients, frequently elderly folks after an operation or trauma of some sort, usually present clinically with confusion. 9 times out of 10, this situation is resolved by quickly checking an O2 sat. It will almost always be low.

Anyhoo, just a brief anecdote about community-acquired pneumonia. It is no joke. I have never been so sick in my entire life. Took about four months to be able to jog a little again. Sending strength and support your way.

I'm glad your test came back negative, Just be watchful since the testing is not so reliable. Your red eye(s) are caused by? Pink eye? Other?

Concerned about Jeff. I hope he'll reconsider a test. Either way, it's best to simply treat him as though he has the corona virus, at least until it's proven otherwise. Is the flu going around in your area? Whatever he has, if it's not hay fever/allergies, he's contagious. You treat/serve an elderly population and you need to decide what to do about your work.

Since he refuses a test, treat him as though he has the virus or the flu. Precautions are taken for both. Keep a watchful eye on his breathing and his temp.

Maybe plan for the worst; by this, I mean: stock up on groceries, etc.
Consider any needs you both might have if isolated at home and ill.

I truly hope neither of you have the corona virus.

my nasal probe came back negative so that is good enough for me.

I think jeff has allergies.

He seems healthy now which is great.
he ran the vacuum cleaner and picked up a lot of dust.

With 2 cats hair and dander are everywhere.
The house needs a thorough cleaning.

I am looking for a new pdoc.

I french braded my hair last evening, slept with it on. Today there are a few fly aways.
so brushed them up and it looks fair but I will keep it in so I won't have to
wear the head band. one of my clients said I should try to wear my hair up.
it does look rather boring with the head band on it is made of cloth
and I have a charcoal gray and black that I can wear that go with my
uniforms.
I only see 2 clients today a1pm and 3 pm. so I had time to do my laundry.
I barely hear the dryer in her I hope it is still working, It is an old timer.

Jeff confirmed that the dryer was working, I just could not hear it.
I know I have hearing loss, should I get tested? I don't want to wear hearing aids.
But it would be nice to know if I do have hearing loss. Think I will get that tested.

My first client cancelled. so I don't have another appointment until one
so we can go to the diner and get my belt, yum.
jeff has really been helping out on hi own accord.
so I am happy about that.
I managed to clean off the kitchen window It was filled full of dead bugs and dry and fell off bridals breath.
It looks so nice now. go rid of a lot of an ivy that had died in the glass and was dangly.
I also have a lucky bamboo plate that jeff bought for me as a surprise one day.
That was very thoughtful of him. The pot that it s in is very small.there 3 stalks and one stalk looks like it is going to die. It lost its only leaf. it is the smallest of the 3 stalks.
those ar the only 2 plants that I can deal with and they are high so perhaps the cats will leave then a lone.
not sure either plant is poisonous to cats if they eat the leaves. hope not!

I have an appointment with Paige deClouet.

Her husband practices there as well. I found out
about Paige after calling to make an appointment
with him. They are both nurse practitioners.
I believe that my appointment is next wednesday

the 17th. at 9;30am.
I don't know how long the first meeting is.

They emailed me the 12 page long admission

packet I am to fill it out and get this back to them ASAP.
I am really hoping she will prescribe klonipin.

I have been trying to get organized. I have had some good days.
I am so sleepy in the mornings.
I should try to just take 1mg instead of 2mg at night. I will start this tonight.

I started drinking again....just 2 of the SIPS beer that I love and then drinking the heineken 0.0 with out any alcohol unlike all of the other non alcoholic beers have .5%.

Carol my friend said I was wining, Jeff does not like her at all.
I think she doesn't throw any punches and says

what ever she wants to say.

She has dementia and loves to work in her yard,

She is only 78 years old.

It is so hard for me to say no.
A hospice social worker texted me one of their patients
really needed a pedicure. I wrote back to her that I still
had to see 50 of my clients
some how and if she wanted to get on that list it would

take me a while to get back to her. she did not say much.
I felt bad for her especially since she is a hospice patient.

I just need to get all of my folks seen ASAP.
I have scheduled a foot care clinic at cedar crest,

an all memory care facility. I have a dozen clients there.
The clinic should be in the beauty parlor. But when

I do a bunch of them that I don't wash their feet.
I will tell them this the staff will have to

wash their feet really good.

Paige declouet is the nurse practitioner that I Will be having a face time meeting wednesday morning at 9;30am.

Am hoping she keeps my meds the way they are.
Hope she is nice. Because I need to have some one be there for me.
Paige looks young which is fine. no threat of leaving the business hopefully.
but she maybe in child rearing years so you never know.
anyway,
I am a bit nervous about the change I was with dr.orazio for 18 years.
I hope she can prescribe all of my meds..
