So down about the fact that I’m in hospital. I could use some words of encouragement.
I was so proud of the fact that I hadn’t had an episode in ages. Pride goes before a fall I guess. I’ve been started back on a mood stabiliser - Lamotrigine. Hoping that will not only help with the low mood but also help relieve some of the anxiety. My other meds have been tweaked e.g. I’m now taking my Seroquel in one hit instead of across the day. Hospitals make me feel despondent. __________________ Pookyl ———————————————————————————— BP1, GAD, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Claustrophobia Psych meds: Saphris, Seroquel XR, regular Seroquel. We're there with you in spirit Pookyl. You had a great run and you should be proud of that. You probably also learned a lot you can use in the future. There is no shame in taking the time to do the right thing for yourself. It is quite brave and I applaud you.
You mentioned a fall and there may be a winter after, but keep your heart and your sights set on Spring. It will return and there is something in this experience you can use to grow from. I hope the med changes serve you well. Maybe you'll even find a friend you can relate to while you're there. If not, we're always here. |

I am sending good thoughts your way- especially that this is a short stay and that you get the help you need- and that the staff is helpful and friendly. At least you have the internet and can come here. One of the hospitals I've been to has a community computer. You're supposed to give it up if someone else wants to use it, but that wasn't usually a problem.

I am sorry you had to go to the hospital for a little while, Pookyl. Hopefully, they will get your medication all sorted out and you will be feeling better soon.
I know Lamictal and Seroquel help a lot of people. I hope they help you. __________________ When I was a kid, my parents moved a lot, but I always found them--Rodney Dangerfield |

Well Pookyl, I’m sorry you needed IP, it’s nothing you have done or not done that has caused this. It’s a safe place to be.
Bipolar is just doing its thing. So please go easy on yourself, allow yourself to just be ... The meds will work and you can get back on your feet and go about life. Your a wonderful caring person to everyone here and to loved ones, family , friends and likely strangers too... So use that same compassion on yourself. I’m around if you need a chat or just a shoulder __________________ Helping others gets me out of my own head ~ |

Hi Pookyl. I hope you feel better soon. I'm with Christina in wanting you to know that having to go IP is not your fault. Our illness is challenging. Sometimes it just gets rough again, and we need the help. It's great that you had a long run not needing it. I second the suggestion to just go back to using the coping skills and healthy living practices you've learned in the past, and maybe during this hospitalization. When we fall off the bike, we just need to get back on again and start riding again.

I also want to remind you that going IP is most definitely not your fault. Please be kind to yourself. I hope the new medication situation works really well for you.

Feeling a little better this morning. The sunlight is streaming into my hospital room. I always feel better when it’s a sunny day.
