I don't know if I've done anything "funny" per se, but one time, my old pdoc said, "Your mood is elevated. We have to do something to nip this in the bud and do our best to prevent depression from coming on. Now, I think it's important not to do any drugs or alcohol." (I've never done drugs or alcohol.) I started laughing hysterically. I said, "Hahahaha. Drugs. That's funny. I think drugs are funny. So is alcohol. It's hilarious. You know what I mean? They're just hilarious. Hahahaha. But no, I won't do drugs or alcohol. I'm funnier than they are, so that's not my cup of tea."

I bought 6 guitars on ebay in two days and totally forgot. They started showing up a couple of days later. My partner asked: "Where did all these new guitars come from?"

"I have no idea," I said.

"Hmm. We'll see about that..."

Then, she checked our ebay. Enought said. It was quite a bit of money. She made me sell most of them.

I used to keep my mania a secret. I wouldn't tell anyone. I thought it was funny. Until I didn't.

dressed up as a pirate (with stuff I found around the house), and insisted that everyone called me " davy jones"

apart from davy jones totally not being a female pirate name, I just looked stupid wearing a teddybear as my shoulder parot and having a foam sword

sitting on the chair in the corner going shiver me timbers

My friend Caleb thinks I'm hilarious when I'm hypo. We have these long, laughing conversations on the phone. I've been known to dance and bounce in my seat and bang my kitchen utensils on the table repeatedly at a restaurant. Of course when manic, I wasn't that funny. Nobody noticed except my case manager and pdoc that I was manic. I am in this big bipolar study that's been ongoing for over 10 years now. Early on in the study, I was in my pdoc's office. The head of the study was this guy named Melvin. I'd seen his pictures in his newsletter on the study. One day, I was in my pdoc's office and who should pop his head in but Melvin! Without any thought, I waved wildly saying "Hiya Mac!!!" He gave me a look like "Crazy bipolar people..."

I was in PHP and something upset me so I ran outside and danced in the lawn sprinklers. The security guy told the group leader and I went back to that PHP twice and that group leader always brings that up.

I was manic at the tail end of a vacation in Portugal two years ago. It was at its worst during the flights home (airports are big triggers for me). There was a lot of rage and ranting, and I experienced some pretty scary delusions. I refused to wait in what was an extremely long line in customs in a very big international airport in my state (the destination airport). Hubby waited in the line and I stood near the front of the line waiting for hubby to make it there. As part of my ranting, I was yelling to the people at the head of the line that when they finally reach the TSA officer, they will be asked to give a stool sample. I guess that's kind of funny, but really wasn't, exactly.

I built a snowman in my livingroom. I brought shovels full of snow into my livingroom one winter and built a full sized snowman. I'm not kidding. I did manage to make my psychiatrist laugh though.
