Just curious how others are fairing with this. I finally broke down last night and did a big clean. Embarrassing. I normally am quite neat here, even when symptomatic, in part, because cleaning is one of my go-to activities for nice distraction and mini-goal setting that I can actually meet (usually). But have not been feeling well, quite obviously, and had really not been keeping up at all. Which, of course, only makes me feel worse about me.

Felt much better after mopping and wiping down kitchen and getting bathroom straight. Still must do oven, my least fave task. Later today. Even have a load of laundry in. Woo hoo!!

So, anyhoo, how is everyone keeping up during this totally bizarre experience? Is it harder? Easier? Neither? Inquiring minds wish to know...

my place is a pigsty. it's awful. I can't bother to clean it though. I've done it before and I really liked when my place is clean, but I am too anxious about some things to even consider cleaning. I feel like it's not a good thing for me to do right now.

I set some goals to see me through and one was to springclean the house. Little by little, day by day it’s starting to sparkle.

Not at you, Christina. But i think its bodes very badly for me when i read your reply and i think the first sentence must surely be a joke. My mother had a friend who cleaned every day, and mom and i often said we wished we had even a touch of what she had.

No, it looks like the big bang of the apocalypse STARTED in my apartment.

Yes, our house is relatively clean. I have kids and things get messy every day, but we pick our stuff back up for the most part. It helps things not to feel to chaotic when there's a basic order to the house.

Each day I do 1 or 2 chores to keep my apartment clean. Gives me something productive to do.

My house is mostly clean, and I try to keep it tidy. The kitchen is always a challenge, because I'm constantly messing it up big time with my various cooking/baking projects. I feel like I'm dealing with dishes/pots/pans and wiping counters and handles, several times per day.

It's usually just my husband and me in the house. We both tend to stick to a few rooms, so all of the other rooms need minimal tidying (a folded blanket here, wiped table there, bed made and a few clothes items picked up, glass/cup coasters restacked). As for nitty gritty cleaning, that's not done daily. Between full vacuuming, I use an electric powered floor "broom". Obviously counters and tables are wiped a couple times per day. I don't dust other stuff until things look dusty (once per week or less). Shower stalls, toilets, and bathroom sinks get "quick cleans" between deeper ones.

I try to keep my closets relatively organized, but sometimes have to make projects out of them when they fall into disarray. Spring cleaning projects are only once per year. I try to pick projects (one by one) throughout the year. I recently started super cleaning drawers and cabinets and putting new contact paper in/on them. I got through maybe 65% and then tired of the project. We own a carpet cleaner, but use it only once per year, I'm afraid.

Hubby's office is cluttered a lot. That's his zone. We use a spare bedroom as a non-official ironing room. We both hate to iron, so that's often a bit cluttered with clean clothes unless we have a guest coming. Then we have an ironing marathon.

I have things to do like put away the clean clothes. Washing and drying is easy, but putting them away always seems hard. There are no dishes in the sink. I consider that an accomplishment. I'm just sticking to basics. Sweeping, mopping, dishes, laundry, vacuuming, wiping down sinks and the toilet, etc. I try to do a little every day. Its a good thing I have so many CDs to clean to!

P.S. I just washed and rinsed and set out to dry some apples and oranges my mom gave me.

I have a mountain of clean laundry just waiting to be folded. We just keep pulling outfits out of it.

That's where I am. No dirty clothes, but piles of clean clothes.

Hahahahhahaha

Actually some people have sent me some mean PM's over the years because I talk about cleaning, I think it triggers them or something

I keep it especially clean now because I am afraid we might get sick and unable to take care of things. So I keep it all decent in case things go downhill

I am not surprised. I had people irl reacted in somewhat angry manner when I mention cleaning. I don’t know why.

That's my technique, too. Except, I have no rugrats or partner to blame for it... It's all just me.
