What keeps you sane when you're isolated?
Maybe specific movies or tv shows? Video chatting with your family, friends, or mental health professionals? Possibly a hobby you're currently doing/have? |

my online friends (so at this forum and at other places). I think without them things would be a diffrent story
also trying to recreate things at home- for example making homemade mcnuggets or making sure I have lots of my favorite drinks in (so cola, dr pepper, etc) making sure I have lots recorded on my tv to watch and finally the thought that I am agoraphobic. I barely go out anyway. this shouldn't be diffrent (even though it feels like it is) |

one of the things I like doing is tracking queue times at theme parks
right now I have no theme parks to track, so I make up visitors in my head and stories about the atractions. someone in naother thread suggested I can find some theme park games, but not found any yet |

talking about everything accept the outbreak.
I won't not talk about it, but I also don't make it my main topic of conversation- I'd go crazy |

I have things that I can do, but it is difficult to motivate myself to do much of anything, I even made a list of things that I can do. So my part-time work is what keeps me sane.

I spend a lot of time alone at home, even without covid 19. I do enjoy interacting with people here at PC. I also enjoy writing, daydreaming, reading, cooking/baking, observing nature/animals, gardening, some types of home projects, and the like. I am quite good at entertaining myself with my thoughts. I laugh at my thoughts and actions frequently throughout the day. I generally do not watch TV until my husband is home in the evening, and TV watching is more his interest than mine. If I had to answer questions about the latest TV shows, I'd likely score a D. I don't mind watching some news. I like to keep up with what's happening in the world. I also LOVE some late night comedy shows and stand up shows. Comedians (Colbert, Kimmel, Oliver, Meyers, Sykes, Chappelle, Ansari, Mulaney, SNL skits, etc.). Not so much the comedy sitcoms.
When there is no shelter at home, I also enjoy seeing a handful of people in public or seeing friends. |

I would agree. Talking about everything EXCEPT the outbreak. I will talk about that. If needed, but it’s freakin everywhere online too even named multiple times in titles. Sorry for the rant.
What keeps me sane? Talking to people who somewhat get me, mostly online, listening to music, playing the piano, reading if I can concentrate. I need to find more things to keep me sane And salmon and wine and bread and butter pudding good topic blue __________________ |

Keeping regular schedule. Trying to eat and remember to take meds. Limiting TV news, which often makes me angry and somewhat unhappy to be an American at this particular moment in time. I am deeply saddened, particularly as a former and lifelong healthcare provider and researcher, that so many in the US have hijacked a massive, lethal public health crisis and attempted to use it as a political tool. I find that disgusting conduct and it makes me want to vomit continuously. So ashamed of aspects of my country right now. Struggling with this. So, I try to avoid it.
Setting small, achievable goals and trying to pull that off: keep apt. cleanish, exercise (not doing well on that one, which is very odd for me), meditate and pray, Distraction--currently binge-watching a few shows. Broke down and rented 1917, since everyone has said how good it is. Probably not a very good choice for me, as it is somewhat triggering of various longstanding negative neural pathways I struggle with. Maybe a musical would have been better. Etc. Also, editing book pretty much full steam ahead. So, having a bigger goal and trying to work toward that. And then, lastly, trying hard to follow the stay-at-home rules, which I find difficult, since I am really quite isolated anyway. Getting out of the house is important in helping me not feel so alone and I cannot really do that, except to exercise and for "required" stuff of which there is little. __________________ When I was a kid, my parents moved a lot, but I always found them--Rodney Dangerfield |
