I can't focus enough to read, write, hold a conversation... I blew my appointment with my new pdoc. So I have 3 months to figure out how to concentrate and learn to be nice. H says not to push but I really need to do more than stare and scroll without really registering anything. So any idea's on how to improve my concentration?

I've had this issue myself, but I also have ADHD. Do you think you have ADHD, possibly? However, I do know that psych meds can make you foggy headed and screw up your ability to concentrate, so it could be just a med issue, or it could be both ADHD and meds.

When it comes to reading, some people here suggested listening to audiobooks while reading. It helps me focus really well, and I know you like listening to things (especially music). Not sure what to do about newspapers and stuff without audiobooks, though.

Also, I don't know exactly how you can improve your ability to write and hold conversations, but sometimes I can't write or hold a conversation because I'm stressed. Do you think stress may be part of the issue, if it's not meds or ADHD? Listening to some nature sounds while you write and talk could help you. I know you like listening to music because you've said in the past that it helps you concentrate, so why not try that?

I've never been told that I had ADHD. Unfortunately I get like this even without medicine. Music is failing me right now. I have nothing to be stressed about but that doesn't mean that I'm not stressed so that could possibly be it. I'll try audiobook today. My husband has a program that highlights the words as they said it so that might be something that work. I'm sorry this is all jumbled I'm using speech to text. That's the only way I can write at this point.

If I am not in either Aderall or Provigil, I cannot concentrate at all. I am on neither right now. Hard to get much done at all.
