I finally got round to having a proper look at this and listening to some recordings

actually it is really helpful and relaxing

does anyone else here use ASMR and does it help you relax?

it's random tapping sounds/ quiet voices/ whispering/ other random sounds that is meant to help you relax. best way I can describe it.

That sounds like my audio hallucinations.

Dear raging vortex, I don't use it. I just wanted to say that I believe if you have found something that is helping you, then keep doing it, unless it turns out to be harmful. Maybe your brain likes this & feels calmer. Sounds have been used since the beginning of time to produce calming effects on the nerves & spirit. And certain visuals, too. Good luck with this as one of your helpers!

Interesting! I've never heard of ASMR. I've used binaural beats over the years and found that helpful for relaxation.
